Title: Asswipes r us!!! Post by Geotan on Sep 20th, 2002, 5:28pm I just listed our Dr. there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi, we're new here but my husband is not new to clusters. He has suffered for 18 years, 10 of which he had no diagnosis. He's also chronic! We went to this neuro guy it seemed all good but he had a heart problem and wasn't seeing patients for a time. Well we couldn't wait for him so we were forced to find another neuro dr. We ended up going back to the first guy about 6 months ago, I think my husband just liked him better. My husband has beed on almost all of the drugs people have listed on this site, We had to tell the Dr. about O2. That should have been our wake up call! He tried O2 and it didn't work! So we call the Dr. it's like he doesn't want to talk to us and when he does he's snotty about it! Things were really getting bad, clusters horrible. I call the doctors answer service and another dr. in the practice returns the call. He was so kind! He put my husband back on sansert for a time. I call our dr. back this week to tell him the sansert isn't working what do we do???and he says" sorry thers just nothing else I can do for him, you'll have to get help some place else". Like get up to date dude on the med. It's like he doesn't even want to educate himself it would just be to much trouble for him! Feeling Crappy, Tanya and George |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by catlind on Sep 20th, 2002, 5:54pm I've heard those exact words...there's nothing more I can do for you. It's frustrating dealing with uneducated medical professionals (so called)... Check the OUCH site for the list of Doctors that have been recommended by cluster sufferers and see if there is one in your state that you can see. Sorry you had to find a home here, but you've found a great place for support and information :) Cat |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by NancyMcFree on Sep 20th, 2002, 6:11pm That just sucks. Keep looking for a new doc, hopefully you will find one who hasn't had the "heart removal" process done to him yet !!!!! My doc is great so there are some out there .... just keep looking. |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by Charlie on Sep 20th, 2002, 7:09pm Dear T & G: Your doctors sound like real rectal apertures. Part of it is that these guys don't like clusters. It's no "fun" to treat and when they run out of things to try, they get rid of the patient so THEY can feel better. Nancy is right: This sucks. Charlie |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by Geotan on Sep 20th, 2002, 9:13pm Thanks Cat, I looked on the OUCH site and the closest doctor is about 2 hours away! I think I'll call my regular MD on Monday and see what he has to say. The MD does't belong to the asswipe club!!LOL Thanks for everyones support! |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by NancyMcFree on Sep 20th, 2002, 10:02pm I use my MD for all my meds. This might be unusual but the neurologist I saw sent me right back to her and agreed with her diagnosis. If you have a good MD that is all you need. I just need to go back to the neuo once a year ( I guess to make sure my brain hasn't fallen out ... and to give her some income). If you have a good MD stick with them. They should be able to help you. If they aren't welll enough informed ....... give them all the info you have found here. |

Title: Re: Asswipes r us!!! Post by Jasmyn on Sep 21st, 2002, 4:34pm What must I say:"When in Africa, do like the Africans do!" Neuro's keep on putting you on the same meds. Some Neuro's don't exist. You medicate yourself from MB! You try combinations, the docs don't tell you it's harmfull. You end up with heart pulpitations and liver disfunctions and you think/feel in love! Well, they say ergotamine and verapamil don't gell together, even if you take Imitrex to support it. but what the hell, as long as we're pain free! When you have a zillion docs and neuro's to choose from, even if you have to drive a hundred miles, get another opinion! USA is famous for it's expertise! |
