Title: And yet one more Vancouver post...
Post by Margi on Sep 20th, 2002, 3:30pm
Mike and I just got home today - we went out and toured Vancouver Island and Mike caught a HUGE salmon!!  His name is Walter.  ;)

Wow, there's a lot to go through, reading all these posts and it's making us go through PCD (Post-Convention Depression), missing everyone.  Everyone we met was wonderful - Bonnie and Tracy did a wonderful job organizing everything.

I can't improve on anything anyone said about it all.  It truly was amazing.  Words can't describe the feeling and instant bonds you establish with clusterpeeps.  So I just won't try, ok?

One thing I do want to say though is that there is a guy who rarely gets thanked for all that he does for our cause.  He's a quiet, gentle giant of a man but the work that he does behind the scenes probably will never get mentioned, because there is so much of it.  It truly was an honour to meet Bob Pahlow and I desparately wish I'd gotten a picture of HIS t-shirt...  :(  Bob, thank you - you're one of the best Presidents OUCH will ever have.

I think we should stop calling these things 'Conventions'.  I think we should start calling them Family Reunions.  Because that's what they feel like.

oh, and DJ was on my golf team.  Turned out to be quite the caddy.  He would want me to remind you that we got a birdie.  AND won low net, thanks to him and Deb.  (Linda, E and I were just there for effect.)  But, yeah, DJ, Linda, and Deb are now officially Twisted Sisters.

My camera's doing the chicken still but I've got about 40 pics to get through if I ever figure it out.  Stay tuned.

I agree Margi - I think that Bob should be president for at least another year!!  He does a GREAT job.

I also agree with the "Family Reunion" name - much better than Annual Convention.

What way did you two drive home?

Thanks for reminding me, BoB!!

If anyone nominates me for anything and I find out who you are I will kill you!!

If I'm elected to anything I will kill all who voted for me!!!!

I'll be spending my time kicking back with Bob showing me how to put a golf ball on a golf tee on the first try.....LMMFYBO!!!!!!! ;D

Margi,

I agree BobP doesn't get enough recognition, much less thanks for alll his work not to mention it cost him $$$$ to get those t-shirts into your country.  Thank you BobP!!!!!!!  BTW folks, as Bob got up to speak, he said he hated to do public speaking...Ya did a great job Bob.

When Elaine gave me the "Twisted sisters" uh....what shall I call it???? uh, nipple chain, I told her I was so very touched.  It's hanging from my rear-view mirror as I type this just in case I need it while I'm driving somewhere.

I nominate Jonny for "twisted brother"      Linda

I wasn't at the convention  :'(  But I agree.  Bob does an excellent job.  As do many others here.

Recognition for things well done is often lost amongst complaints for things gone wrong.  Lets not do that to the people in this cluster family.

There are a few people whom I'd like to give personal thanks to for being awesome inspiring people.  Jonny, you are the sweetest hardass I know.  Sailpappy, what can I say, I luv ya to bits.  Linda and Elaine, you both are incredible women and defy the laws of physics in how you both stand strong and carry on with the beast and other things without ever a falter and always a hand reaching out to others in need.  Charlie, well you're blind ;)  Luv ya to bits too Charlie.

Okay I'm done now...I know I know, not supposed to do that on the board, but I did anyway, so sue me.

OUCH and it's management rocks!

Cat

Its about Time you and Mike got home. Hey did you guys eat Walter ????

Bob has had to put up with all my BS and he is still my friend. I say he is a real cool guy, I like it when someone can seperate friendship from OUCH issues and that takes a good person.

So often people who work the hardest are over looked.

I know how much work went into  that convention, I want you guys Bonnie, Tracy  and you to know it was enjoyed!!! Thanks for all the hard work !!!

Next year how about a soft ball game???I can play soft ball and I can hit the ball and even run :-)!!! That damn golf ball was just to small.

Three cheers for BoB P, Bonnie, Tracy, and my Twisted Sister Margi!!!

By the way we started to sign rise and shine to you and Mike on the phone at 3 am when we woke you up but we figured you would have us committeed!

My coffee is so much better in this cup ;-)
