Title: What if? Post by forgetfulnot on Sep 16th, 2002, 2:39pm What if a wild animal is caught in a painful trap? Doe's he lay there and starve to death or chew off his leg to escape and later to bleed to death? Is the latter considered suicide? No, we or most of us aren't wild animals; however there are some auto-response mechanisms we can not always control. The fight or flee response is just as strong in humans as in apes or snakes. Our pain is not from any visible enemy but the fight or flee response is the same as the painful trap. Sometimes if you can’t stand the heat, you must get out of the kitchen. We all do that in our own way. There are many noble things to die for, I can’t think of any at the moment but cluster headaches certainly is not one of them. And don’t chew your leg off, tastes terrible. Lee :) |

Title: Re: What if? Post by Drk^Angel on Sep 16th, 2002, 2:43pm Is it just me, or are all these threads about suicide lately makin' the board depressing? PFDAN.......................... Drk^Angel |

Title: Re: What if? Post by forgetfulnot on Sep 16th, 2002, 2:47pm Hey Drk^Angel, this was an anti suicide post if you don't mind L^E^E |

Title: Re: What if? Post by echo on Sep 16th, 2002, 2:52pm I agree Drk. It brings the subject back to the surface. The above post did remind me of those unbelievable 70's. I remember waking on one occasion wanting to chew my arm off rather than disturbing the coyote ugly stranger laying next to me. :-/ |

Title: Re: What if? Post by Drk^Angel on Sep 16th, 2002, 3:01pm Hey forgetfulnot, this thread is still just as depressing as the other couple of "anti-suicide" threads, and suicide threads if you don't mind. I can understand responding to someone posting about thinking about suicide, but all these threads about how suicide is bad, or death is worse, or other shit like that is just fueling the fire. It's almost like y'all are attempting a pre-emptive strike. If you ask me, any talk about suicide is depressing, whether it's about the pros or cons. I think it'd be better for all if we would limit the suicide discussions to relative threads. PFDAN............................... Drk^Angel |

Title: Re: What if? Post by forgetfulnot on Sep 16th, 2002, 4:18pm Mr. Dark, so sorry to upset you, last I knew some guy named DJ was the moderator on this channel, I guess he must have passed his duties on to you. ::) Just remember one thing in your almighty attempt to govern the content of this board, you don't have the authority or the power to do it, so if you don't like a particular post don't read it or go somewhere else and try your censorship there. Title: Re: What if? Post by Drk^Angel on Sep 16th, 2002, 4:26pm forgetful... Get off your soap box. Where in either of my post did I claim #1... To be the moderator of this board. #2... That I'm trying to govern the topic on this board. #3... That I'm trying to censor anything. #4... That you upset me... I was just expressing an opinion. All these needless posts about the pros and cons of suicide is depressing, and it would be better to limited them to relevant threads. That's my opinion. I'm entitled to have an opinion, and to share that opinion. Please do not attempt to make false statements about what I'm saying, or what I mean. It's impolite, bad ettiquite, and slanderous. Title: Re: What if? Post by Ueli on Sep 16th, 2002, 4:43pm Mr Pissed off old Lee, The right of free speech gives you the right to state what opinion you like. However, since you are not the exclusive owner of this right, you should just remember one thing in your almighty attempt to govern the content of this board, you don't have the authority or the power to do it, so if you don't like a particular post don't read it or go somewhere else and try your censorship there. |

Title: Re: What if? Post by Cathi on Sep 16th, 2002, 6:58pm Seems to me, no matter what side of the fence our feet are dangling, there will be 1-someone to agree 2-someone to argue 3-someone to say to both sides-"AIN'T IT GRAND- no matter how we feel- we have some place where we can speak our minds....and come out feeling good, nonetheless? .....And to all, a good night..... |

Title: Re: What if? Post by forgetfulnot on Sep 16th, 2002, 7:04pm OK Dickheads, show me one untrue statement in my post, I'm waiting. lee |

Title: Re: What if? Post by Ueli on Sep 16th, 2002, 7:34pm Nobody blamed you of telling something untrue. But is your calling others names a sign of your insecurity, or plain anger because your accusations to Drk were just returned? You should not be throwing stones while sitting in a glass house. |

Title: Re: What if? Post by jonny on Sep 17th, 2002, 12:20am To tell people that CH is also known as "Suicide headaches" and then not want to mention the word "Suicide" after that is stupid. But what the hell do I know? .....................jonny |

Title: Re: What if? Post by Charlie on Sep 17th, 2002, 12:36am I have a feeling that suicide just might pop up again whether anyone likes it or not. The thing is, we get into this often enough that we beat it death and it goes away on its own for awhile. Telling us about it keeps it going. Suicide depressing? Holy cow! Ya learn something every day. Charlie |
