Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Ted on Sep 12th, 2002, 11:52pm So I guess role playing asthamtic and nurse wouldn't do then. So, whatcha selling? I mean, why come to a cluster headache board and ask for asthmatics and specific devices? My guess is going to an asthma board would net you a larger income for whatever it is. By the way, this is a commercial-free zone. Salesfolks usually get roasted. Enjoy. |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by nicole_mtl on Sep 13th, 2002, 12:59am Thanks for the warning, however, this isn't sales and it doesn't boost my income. what is interesting though is that I too suffered from these headaches and having asthma plus smoking triguered them. I found ways that helped me a great deal and maybe I can help others. Who knows what can come of this. I do work for a Medical Research Firm. Therefore, I have access to some of the lates studies. So being on this site may prove worthwhile not only to me but others as well. Enjoy your weekend, Nicole |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Charlie on Sep 13th, 2002, 1:39am Sorry if you ever had these headaches. They test ones endurance. I'm not at all clear what this is all about. If you have some kind of information, providing a link or the information itself would make sense to me. You'll find that many of us are aware of current cluster headaches studies but willing to look. Never had asthma by the way so I cant help you. Still, what's your deal? Charlie |

Interesting that "these headaches" were triggered by smoking. Even Charlie, our resident anti-smoking expert, didn't jump on that; for good reason: The posters to this board have accumulated a few million cluster attacks, but no one ever reported your "experience", although the topic was discussed many times. Folks, look at her e-mail addy: special_delivery_ca@.... If it quacks like a duck, ...... People like Nicole give me a headache.... |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by nicole_mtl on Sep 13th, 2002, 7:02am From your responses, I can see that no one here is really serious. Too bad , it seemed like a great place to be. So far all I have gotten were ridiculous replies, starting from the first one. Go Figure! Nicole |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Ted on Sep 13th, 2002, 9:43am So you're only willing to share your "research" with asthma sufferers and only asthma sufferers who used Advair Diskus? And only 200 of them? I agree with Ueli so let me translate this post for you: Quack quack quack quack "quack" quack Quack Quack? And only quack quack quack? |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by nicole_mtl on Sep 13th, 2002, 2:56pm I am amazed ...now is this what I said?? So you're only willing to share your "research" with asthma sufferers and only asthma sufferers who used Advair Diskus? And only 200 of them? I think not! God, I have never witnessed such a group of people in all my life. I really pity you...please read all these comments and take a good look at yourselves... But anyway, Hope you all enjoy your weekend and maybe someday you'll treat people the way you'd want yourselves to be treated. Ciao, Nicole |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Drk^Angel on Sep 13th, 2002, 3:44pm Nicole... Perhaps you need to review what you are doing. You come to a support group message board for cluster headache sufferers, or their supporters, and your first post is to solicit specific asthma sufferers for what appears to be a professional reason. Do you notice the flaw in this reasoning? It would be to everyone's benefit if you were to post such a request to an asthma support group as were already mentioned, and if you are a clusterhead, to use this forum to discuss your clusters. It is bad etiquette, and just plain rude, to join a group, only to discuss matters that does not relate to that particular group, and as such should not complain when the ppl of that group refuse to take you seriously. I'm sorry if you feel you have been unfairly treated, but your actions has most likely had similar effects to the members of this board. Drk^Angel |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Night_Owl on Sep 13th, 2002, 3:52pm Hi, I suffer from cluster headaches as well as asthma. I talked to my doc and she said that it didn't have anything to do with my headaches. Is there some connection being made? Night_Owl |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Charlie on Sep 13th, 2002, 4:25pm Nicole: (Bet you're still reading us...) It's because we are serious that we have a good record spotting purveyors of nonsense. It's almost always cryptic, involves prowling the net, or discarding well-proven therapies. To avail ourselves of these miracles, we usually have to buy some kind useless drug. If it’s not that, we learn that if we don’t do something like buy your lacquer covered zip-tab necklace, play the recorder while dancing counter-clockwise around burning embers and chanting to the earth gods, we’re idiots. It gets tiresome. Granted that we can be abrupt, but our initial responses expressed our sorrow that you had experience with CH and at worst; showed a little humor. Asking what you're up to, is a crime with you. You chose to answer only what you disliked about our posts. All you had to say was that “maybe my idea has some merit. Here it is, so what do you think?” Sweetness and light old Charlie |

Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by nicole_mtl on Sep 13th, 2002, 5:50pm Thanks Charlie, and since you asked: I was so tired of not going one day without a headache that I thought of commiting suicide. Then I looked at my life and the people around me. The food I ate and my smoking habits. Pacing up and down the emergy ward at the hospital most nights waiting for some sort of injection (i.e. Demoral and gravol) wasn't what I imagined my life to be. I did a lot of Soul searching (the times that I could actually be able to think) and I made the decision that changed my entire life including the headaches. I spoke to my 11 yr old son and moved to another province, leaving my husband, all my family and friends. I started eating right, excercising and smoking less. My bed lying days were diminishing, I was finally able to work full time. Reducing all the stress in my life worked wonders but most of all it was finding myself that made all the difference. 15 yrs of daily headaches ended within the year. I have been smiling since... Title: Re: Asthma sufferers needed who use Advair Post by Charlie on Sep 13th, 2002, 6:20pm I'm glad you feel better. Anything you do that works is good. CH is tricky. It makes little sense. For me, I quit smoking in 1980. The headaches lasted another 11 years. They began to dissipate during the most stressful time of my life. While not unusual for someone my age, my mother and four other rather close family members died with a very short time. I spent a lot of time looking over boxes with handles for these people. Anyway, at this time my CH disappeared. It's the only thing that was different at the time. As I said, it makes little sense. How does the asthma drug apply here? Is it a preventative or an abortive? In any case, I'm glad you're better and keep doing whatever it is you're doing. Charlie |
