: ??? I experience three types of headaches chronicly that often overlap meaning I have a continuous headache that lasts up to 3-4 months that never goes away. On top of that I'll get clusters or a migrane. This has been going on since I was a child and I'm 33 now. Sometimes I want to die, have the source of all my pain chopped off! I've learned to live with this but I am so sick of it. I wonder if I have a brain tumer but if I did, shouldn't I be dead already? I currently take so many pills just to get through the day and to sleep that it makes me so mad. I was so happy to find this site, people who suffer like me. Thank you! Riavaigh

Is there any reason you have not mentioned the tests you have taken to make sure that it is not an organic problem?

Welcome to our world. Sorry if you've been diagnosed with CH. I truly hope it isn't so. Tell us more and the kind of meds you're taking.

As far as a tumor, we've all been there. Make sure you see a doctor though. Many have clusters as well as migraines but the two are not related.

Tell us more and keep in touch.

This is RiaVaigh again- This is all new to me and I've never used a chat forum b4 either. About tests, I went to a headache clinic in Northern CA as well as a sleep clinic for my headaches and a sleep disorder several years ago and was diagnosed with CH along with a couple unrelated things and since then I have tried treatments ranging from pills like Alevil & IBU's to nose spray. I've also gone so far as to put mineral ice on my head. There are certain meds that I cannot take but I've tried everything else. Mostly I use Advil and suffer. Basiclly, I go to the doctor but nothing they do works. My current headache has been going on for 4 days but before that it was a 2 monther.

I've also went to an Allergist and had tests to see if my headaches were due to allergies and they found that my skin was allergic to certain kinds of chemicals in soaps which gave me a reaction, however no relation to the headaches. The doctors tell me that there are over 500 causes for the three types of headaches so it's hard to pinpoint exactly why I get them. So far they cannot figure it out. Meanwhile I cry. boo hoo

Welcome to the board! Sorry that the beast is freezin' your head in liquid nitrogen, and shatterin' it into a thousand little pieces with a sledgehammer, thrown the pieces into a furnace to melt them back together, then starting the process over again. Welcome to the family!

Well,

Ch pain is so intense that one cannot sleep, rest, or even lie down. They rarely last for than a couple hours. Mine were usually about 20 minutes. They would hit several times a day and wake me out of a sound sleep.

From what you've posted, it sounds like maybe you don't have CH. At least I hope that's the case. It's obvious you're in lots of pain though.

Maybe you'll find something among all these posts to help. There is a lot of good information here.

like I said, my constant headache is not CH but while I'm hurting I get those on top of my reg. headache...Here's what I do when that happens...
1) cry and pace
2) pull my hair
3) I beg someone to kill me even though nobody's there
4) I roll around on the floor like a dieing dog
5) moan and say, "my hands are warm-biofeedback" does not work!
6)No I cannot sleep when this is happening
I have to take sleeping pills every night or I'll never sleep
I woke up with my regular headache again this morning
I'll probably puke at work.

when I was first diagnosed the doctor sent me to the library to watch a video about CH and I did. Believe me, I've been having these since I was a kid. I have all three types of headaches at different times, that's why I nmaed mt topic what it is. Thanks for listening.

Thanks, I had an MRI a long time ago. It was normal. I've been having Ch, migranes, and other types of headaches since age 5 w/o being able to find the cause so I try and try for a solution. Doctors don't always do the right thing either.
