Title: Not really CH related
Post by Jim R on Sep 5th, 2002, 8:35am
My wife has been really stressed out with my CH's lately and last year as well.  She's been working at a hospital 30 miles from our home, so has a 60 mile daily commute, which she really hates in our New Hampshire winters.  In addition, she has an idiot for a boss, has lost half the staff in her dept. because of this guy not giving the dept. the $ it needs for the resources it needs; she's performing 3 of the main functions of the department alone and is basically totally burned out.  Today is he giving her notice and has accepted a job at the hospital right here in town where we live!  She is walking on cloud 9 and I can already tell the tension and stress have lifted for her.  I'm very happy  ;D and maybe this bodes well for our household as too...  just had to share - Jim R

What the heck is a Winnipesaukee?

Just trying to pronounce it gave me a migraine. Now I have to go lie down.

It's true that good things happen to good people.  Please give your wife congratulatory words from me.  Reads like life will better for both of you.  Now her boss can lay in the mess he created.

ChristineL,
No, never been there. I have a good buddy from my Army days that has a great little newspaper there. The New Hampshire Gazette. Ever seen it?

Out here we have a Winemucca. It's not a lake, just a spit in the road.

Jim so happy for you and your wife ... see good things do happen to good people ..... it just takes a while sometimes !!!!!!!!!  Heck, she'lll probably feel like she's working part time when the comute is subtracted from her day !!!!!!!!

I was born in Goffstown,NH which I never tell anyone ... sounds too much like Goofstown !!!!

Thank you Nancy!

Now Nancy,  Goffstown (south of where I live) sounds like a lovely place:

"Goffstown is a scenic town with twin mountains, forested hills, winding rivers, and an attractive New England village center. Recreational opportunities, including hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, skating, abound. In 1998 the town added a privately constructed championship public golf course to its assets."  (from the Goffstown, NH web site)

It looks like quintessential New England...  PFDAN's to you sis.

Winnipesauke-----

A beautiful place. Went there several times with my family when a pimply-faced teen-ager. Even flew over it a couple times.  And yer right, it's pretty big. Mom and Dad fell in love with New Hampshire.

Hope this works out Jim. You do sound happy. :^)

Hey Jim ... I think it was the lovely lake in your description that prompted my father to move ........ seems they were flooding us out to build it.  LOL.  Glad I could be a part of making Goffstown such a lovely little community !!!!!  Too bad we moved south where the running waters did not flow ...... New Jersey .... can't say that that is one of my favorite site-seeing states.  Ah, but NH is beautiful ... all of New England is.  PA living on a beautiful river isn't bad either.

Take care bud.

Nancy,

Yes, NH is beautiful as well as Maine (born there and lived there for 21 years) as well as the rest of New England...and PA is too - drove through there when I was coming home from working in southern Ohio...come to think of it, lived in southern NJ for a short stint - around Cape May, which wasn't bad either.  I'd actually like to retire, get rid of these frigging headaches, win the lottery and travel around the world!!  LOL!

When I first moved to PA, not long after crossing the state line, I thought, "Damn... If their highways are this ugly, I wonder about the rest of the state."  But then again, it was December on the Pike, so the highway was dirty with all the ash they'd put down.  Coming from MI, I wasn't used to the ash.  I guess some areas of the state is nice, especially in the east... But the city I live in is an ugly little place in the middle of nowhere.  LOL

2Late ..... gotta admit the roads in PA are some of the worst in the country .... but then again, I think our highway dept has a hidden adgenda .... they want to slow everyone up and save lives ........... hehehehehe ...sounds like a good ad for PA, don't it ???

I'm not sayin' the whole state is bad... I'm sayin' this city (city??  Where I'm from, this place wouldn't even be a small village.  LOL) is drivin' me crazy.  And the Pike was just a first impression.  Now that I've been here for a while, I hardly notice the ash in the winter.  But the primary reason I'm still here after near 6 years... My wife won't move... LOL  PA ain't too bad (except for the damn auto inspections.  At least I don't live in Pitt, so I don't need an emisions test... My car would never pass.)  I can definately think of worse places to live... Like CA... Horrible place... LOL

Get this!  Just when my wife was about to go resign yesterday, a huge and beautiful bouquet of flowers arrived for her - from her idiot boss!  She felt she could got tell him after that - I told her "way too little, too late" - I mean, she has been SLAVING at this place for 12 hr days for months trying to hold the dept. together while this moron of a boss takes vacation after vacation (she's had none) and then when she appeared down when day, he noticed and said he approve buying neew curtains for the department to cheer her up - totally clueless!  She's resigning today....

GOOD FOR HER,  Jim.  And for you.  Lifes too short to  be
stuck with not a very nice persons and morons 8 hours a day..

Oh, and Slammy?  Have to admit it.  You're right.  Anything East of PCH is a nice place ( to just visit. )

Thanks Linda!

Today, when she did resign, her boss offered her more $ to stay - he IS clueless...she sounded like she even might be thinking about it when I called her on the cell and I told her NEVER stay in a place for more $ or anything after you have indicated you leaving or ready too, becasue it will only be a matter of time before they get rid of YOU on THEIR terms...I really do not think she is seriously consdiering it...she is too excited about her new job and leaving this place!  Hoping for a good weekend!  Going to a dinner party with old (high school) friends tonight and just hope I'll be PF - but I am going prepared in case!   Everyone have a PFDAN tonight!  Jim R

Have a good PF time Jim.

You're right on with your advice to your wife!  Never change your mind about leaving for more money.  Your loyalty will be questioned forever.  The other thing is.... the reasons why she wanted to leave are still there.  Money is only temporary satisfication..... just like sex!   ;D  That's why I recommend alot of both!    :D

Hi Ree and thanks - I'll tell her, although she hardly ever has any time to get on a computer with her current job, but maybe that will all change with her new one in a couple of months.  PFDAN's to you too! - Jim R
