Thank you for encoureging me to go to the dr/ER. My blood pressure was 198/121. It is normally 120/70. They did EKG, chest xray, blood work and all came back fine. They gave me morphine and ativan to relax me and kill the chest pain. It worked. My blood pressure finally went back down to 165/72. They sent me home to rest with orders to follow up with my dr. I will be seeing him tomorrow at 4:30. I pray all will go well. I am going to ask for stress tests. Heart disease runs high in my family. I can't believe this and I am only 36. Please keep me in your thoughts or prayers as I face this new challenge.

Again thanks to everyone in Chat last night for being so caring, supportive.

Karla,

That's just about what my blood pressure was in the ER too (during a CH) and like you, have a real strong family history of heart diease (my mom died of it 3 years ago after almost 2 months in a hospital ICU). Good luck to ya, sis and PFDAN's. - Jim R

I wasn't in chat with you but I'm glad to read you caught the HBP and have startted to do what is needed to control it. 121 on the low side is really crank'n. My BP has been border line for years - now at 47 I've started meds to control. Hope your stress tests goes ok.

Yup, big blood pressure increases are common when one is in big time pain.... Jim R
