Title: Technical question about the board
Post by oringkid on Aug 21st, 2002, 3:50pm
Ok, say you got a thread going.  In the middle, person A posts something, then person B posts something.  If person A goes in and modifies his post, will his post show up after person B's?
Cuz there was at least one post that I have seen where the person A was talking about the person B's post before person B's post.

I know you guys are gonna kill me for this.....LOL

That was because person A was a clairvoyant.    ;D

I predict Jonny will post:
"  No, if A modifies his/her post it does not change place in the thread and they are not  credited for another post. "

See?   ;D

I like my answer better........

No, if A modifies his/her post it does not change place in the thread and they are not  credited for another post.

See?....LOL

I suspect someone removed their post causing the thread to read wrong.

uuugh!  How dare you ask a question without researching the buttons first!  Look for the button that says "We can post inane bullshit, but don't bother us with actual cluster related questions in case we were asked it before".  I think it's located under the MessageBoard Nazi button....

I am kidding by the way - just trying to be part of the action here...

Really enjoying all the fighting Chris

Ok then, how can A who is second poster and who has not edited his post know what B said in his post that is 5th down the line?

I am confused.  I saw how Slammy did it just now cuz he edited his post.

(btw the post I am speaking of was the Dannyboy Ueli challenge. I forget the name of poster A but he said Danny should not ask people to remove their posts.  But Danny, poster B, didn't say that until later.  I thought maybe the guy gave Danny the idea but it really didn't seem that way.  Maybe I am just losin it.)

Oh well. Nevermind.

Kid... I would say that either Dannyboy removed a post, Stevey was responding to something that was removed from Dannyboy's first post, or maybe Stevey misunderstood what Dannyboy was saying.  Look at the dates and times of the posts.  Although the second Dannyboy post was edited after Stevey's post, you'll notice, it was also originally posted after Stevey's post.
