Title: This is true!! Post by cleon on Aug 20th, 2002, 6:59am Have been a sufferer for over 30 years and had some ripper cycles as many of us have. I recently went to hospital to have lower back surgery - fusion with cage and screws, bone graft from hip and bone removal to free the compression of the main nerve roots on both sides. Painful - o yes!! Standing to walk again and turning in bed - o my God!! I will tell you this though. I would have it every year if it meant not having a cycle of clusters! Best wishes to all fellow sufferers. |

Title: Re: This is true!! Post by Mistory on Aug 20th, 2002, 7:25am No back surgery here, but I have had a ruptured disk. Also, four natural childbirths( no drugs)...the first one breech. Broken collarbone, twenty seven stitches in the arch of my foot, arthritis, migraine, five hour gall bladder attacks and waking up in the middle of the surgery... Nope, haven't thought of much of anything I wouldn't prefer to the pain of the demon! |

Title: Re: This is true!! Post by sailpappy on Aug 20th, 2002, 7:32am ;D ;D I have often wondered if having 6 compacted disc's in my back has anything to do with the clusters? Since I had the Head to toe bone scan, well I found out a whole lot of stuff I didn't know about my skeleton! Seems I have Chronic advanced degenerative arthritis in my ankles, hips knees, both sholders and bone spurrs all over the place. 6 compacted and missaligned disc(I knew about 2). I sawthe doctor that was the team doctor for the Bob sled team and he said he wondered how I was able to function at all, I shouldn't be able to walk, run swim or sleep because of all the skeletal problems! Go figure! Pappy http://www.gifs.net/animate/sungulls.gif http://www.gifs.net/animate/sailboat.gif |

Title: Re: This is true!! Post by catlind on Aug 20th, 2002, 9:39am I have a compressed disc in the C spine region (neck region) and had a slipped disc when I was in my 20's no idea if there's a correlation, but I also have a brain hernia - in the pituitary region, so who knows. Someone said we were working the wrong way, back from clusters to a source, and should be looking for a source that links to clusters (I think it was like that anyway) so maybe that's what we need to do. I don't know nuffin anyway, so make your own guess LOL Cat |
