Just want to say, 24 years of CH, most with no help.
Last 3 episodes though, and this one have responded to Procardia, 60 mg. a day. And this time I have added 150 mg. (50 three times a day), plus Zomig ZMT 5 mg. as needed every 12 hours for shadows.

I am headache free for 12 days now. 3 weeks into my cycle. I also avoid cigarette smoke, cologne, smells, alcohol, and citrus during a cycle, and heat/humidity.

I don't know why this works for me, but it is. Just wanted to share so maybe someone else can be saved from the beast.

Also, any good neuros in the Raleigh, NC area????

Interesting....indomethicin is usually prescribed for CPH, not CH (although my family practitioner did prescribe it for me, it didn't touch any of them...). Verapamil alone worked for me for 7 years and then stopped. Now they only thing they've found that can stop them are lithium, which I just started again this week. Good luck to you Debbie. - Jim R

Hi Debbie good for you glad to hear such a positive post... there is light at the end of the tunnell... Just keep up what you are doing and remember taper off according to what your MD tells you or you could slam yourself right back into a cycle.

Jim everyones silver bullet is different. Whatever works for you this cycle, may not work next one. Indo. works for some as a CH. med also... Procardia is a heart med... but also used in blood pressure patients so Im not surprised that the doc used this one for you Deb. The first med they used on Dave when I got diagnosed was a med similar to that one...lost the name in the recesses of my memory...

Shadows are still there so I know the prick is still hangin' around.
Still livin' in fear.
But breathing easier.

Off to work I go.
I had an inmate tell me the other day that he has clusters. So he lives with the beast on lock down, and no meds. I almost feel sorry for him. Ya know???
But ya have to wonder how the person he murdered suffered... :o :o
