Title: Quick Question... Post by Edwina on Aug 15th, 2002, 5:18am Hello!! Does anyone else suffer from severe tiredness after an attack? I'm currently not on a any specific medication except ibruprofen, so i really have to suffer through the pain - causing me to feel extrememly weak and tired for the following day. Have my first appointment with a neuro in two weeks - so pleased as i've been battling with several doctors for a while, and have finally got what i wanted! Also, the people who inject Imitrex, can i askwhere you inject? Sorry for all the questions! Edwina :) |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by Charlie on Aug 15th, 2002, 6:42am I agree. CH is exhausting. It was such a relief when it went. With me, it felt like it drained out of my head and that relaxed me. :P Drink lots of water or juice afterward. Just an idea. Enjoy your nap 8) Charlie |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by don on Aug 15th, 2002, 7:24am It takes an incredible amount of energy to deal with pain. After an attack I'm wiped for about 30 minutes. Charlie's right. Large amounts of water and juice. |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by Edwina on Aug 15th, 2002, 8:39am The tiredness is one of the things that gets to me the most! I work in Money market Settlements in a bank and am hopefully coming to the end of my cycle - but i am really struggling, i constantly feel drained and tired. My boss isn't aware of my situation, not 100% sure whether to tell him or not - i only ever get attacks when i'm asleep, so they're very unlikely to see me at my worst at work?! :-/ |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by kim on Aug 15th, 2002, 11:09pm Yep. Wiped out. Drains outa you and you MELT. I kinda don't like that time cuz start to feel good again and then WHAMO! Anudda hit. But that feeling when it is leaking out is a good feeling and many times (for me) it feels almost like a natural high kinda thing. Jelly. i've tried to explain this to people and they look at me funny. Oh well. Enjoy the relief. Just don't get TOO comfy.......... ::) Well wishes, Kim |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by ave on Aug 16th, 2002, 8:27am Like Kim, for me coming down from a bad attack is like a natural high. Still amazes me that one moment I am whimpering and hanging unto my sanity (such a it is) and the next I coolly get up and start doing the washing. The tiredness comes long afterwards and if they are nigh attacks I am a bit frazzled in the morn. That's all. |

Title: Re: Quick Question... Post by gills on Aug 17th, 2002, 2:44am Depends when it happens. If it happens at 9pm, immediately after the beast disappears, I am somewhat euphoric and wide awake for about 1 hour. If I am woken up by the beast, I am very tired afterwards but going to sleep often attracts another within a short period of time. When you wake up with a kip 10 at 3am, it hangs around for 2 hours, go back to sleep at 5.30am and wake up at 6.00 am with another 2 hour kip 10, you're ready to cut your head off. :-[ :-/ :'( After the follow up one, I am exhausted for the rest of the day. Thank God that only happens about 3 or 4 times a cluster cycle... :) :) My wretched times are 9pm and 3am to 4 am. Sometimes during the day, I feel fantasticly awake with an incredibly clear head. This is a sign I am in big trouble later that night. Gills |
