Title: Re: anyone else have insurance probs? Post by catlind on Aug 13th, 2002, 8:35am tlc, search the archives, there are posts in the library about how to use less of the imitrex and make the medications last longer. Some people I believe have actually been able to get the vial to regulate how much they get rather than the set amount. Cat |

Title: Re: anyone else have insurance probs? Post by Bob P on Aug 13th, 2002, 8:36am Yep. Almost all of us do. The problem is that the insurance companies consider Imitrex a migraine medication and everyone knows that you only get a couple of migraines a month. The only option is the appeal process. Your doc needs to call or FAX them telling them the additional Imitrex is a medical necessity (Drummmer has done this and gets all the trex he wants from Blue Cross). Your Doc has to go to bat for you and keep hammering on the Ins Co. In the mean time, maybe you can get some free samples from your doc. |
