Title: Re: OUCH 2003 Officer Nominations Post by Riccardo on Aug 13th, 2002, 11:16am OK, my thoughts: The nominations, and the elections!!! are a VERY important THING for OUCH. Last year less than the 30% of members had voted, and the run was (anyway) very poor in the number of candidates. This year we need a HUGE PARTECIPATION. If you're a member and DON'T vote, you're a very "poor" member. OUCH is becoming what you are doing for it, and ....sorry..... we are doing very poor things (with some, few exceptions) I think I will not run for ANY of the positons this year (mainly for the amount of work in OUCH Italia chapter) but my recommendation is to make some positions with people OUT of USA. Until this year, UELI and I were (and will be until the 2003 start) in the Board of Directors and I think that a "outside USA" point of view is and have to be very important. I pray you to think to a non-USA member for the board, or for any other position (excluding for obvious reasons of distance the positions of treasurer and secretary). Please, let a stranger explain her/his ideas for the 2003, is very important. But the most important thing is "TO VOTE, TO VOTE and TO VOTE" Ciao for now "OUCH IS WHAT YOU DO FOR IT" |

Title: Re: OUCH 2003 Officer Nominations Post by Melissa on Aug 13th, 2002, 11:33am You know, I would like to do work for OUCH, but need stuff assigned to me. I have much more determination that way. I would love to be a officer, but money prevents me from attending the meetings necessary. Please, if you can find something for me to do, just tell me!!! :) Mel P.S. I still want to get the word out about OUCH to those without puter access, but am finding I am running into brick walls. Making a brochure is all well and fine, if there is a number they can call, or a place they can write too for more information. Eventually, it'd be nice If we could get a book made up, containing all the resources of this and OUCH's website. If there is anyone out there with any ideas, let me know! |

Title: Re: OUCH 2003 Officer Nominations Post by Riccardo on Aug 13th, 2002, 3:55pm Mel, IMHO, attending to the meeting is not mandatory. We have had many from BoD and a half of the officiers that NEVER attended a meeting (... you did one..:-) ) And is not to be blamed. The good things in an officier is not attending the meetings, but work for OUCH at well, and avoid bad/fighting/mad things. If you will run for any charge, you'll have my vote..... And the idea to prepare a book for those wothout an internet access.... is great! |

Title: Re: OUCH 2003 Officer Nominations Post by catlind on Aug 13th, 2002, 6:13pm I think I'm way to new at all this to consider running for anything, but I will vote, and I would love to do something for ouch. I have computer talents that I would gladly put to work for OUCH and I am planning on making up a package for the local hospital and the neuro so they are INFORMED about what the fuck the difference is between a CH and a migraine. Beyond that, I too need assigned things to do...I'm not real good with initiative when I'm not up to speed on things. I haven't taken the time (with family here and hubby about to deploy) to fully explore the ouch site. I promise I will vote and I will explore the site extensively and then perhaps I can volunteer for something more specific. Oh yeah, and I can banter real well LOL. Cat |
