Title: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by ChristineL on Aug 12th, 2002, 2:20pm You guys are probably going to think I am totally nuts but for those of you who have pets - you might understand. I have numerous dogs and cats. At this time of year the cats are out more than in especially at night doing their hunting thing. I live on a farm so for them its a smorgusboard (sp?) of little critters to enjoy. Ever since my CH's started again - one of my cats seems to know when they are coming. He jumps on the bed and lies up against the left side of my head (the side my CH's are on). He gently ( I swear this is true) takes his paw and strokes my face while he purrs. He stays with me until the headache subsides and then he leaves. He will do this 2,3,4 times a night. I didn't put it all together at first but now it is just to damn much of a coincidence. So..........I may not have a hubby for support but I have one great cat! Chris L |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by sailpappy on Aug 12th, 2002, 4:23pm ;D ;D Well I for one believe you ChristineL, I had a no animal rule that in Febuary I broke, I let the Grandkids get a dog, her name is cleo and I swear she knows when I need to lie down because of the fatigue from my Hep C, she actually takes my hand in her mouth and pulls me to the bed and barks at me until I lay down then she gets in bed beside me and stays until I rest for a few hours, If the phone rings or I have to get up too soon ,she makes lay back down. I didn't believe that was what she was doing until my wife pointed it out to me and sure enough it happens everyday now, and on the days that I don't get too fatigued she doesn't do it! Pappy |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by oringkid on Aug 12th, 2002, 4:29pm Ok, damnit! You guys are pissin me off. Animals are very intuitive and have a WAY better sense of smell than we do. A dog or a cat can tell if there is something wrong with a person. Many have attested to this. Yes, even cats, aloof and independant as they are have loyalties and will cling and try to heal a person (especially female cats) Dogs are more sensitive but it is not unheard of for a cat to hone in to a health problem. You know that the animal that you abuse the most is the animal that you will come back as in your next life. ;D Unfortunately, I am doomed to become an ant that is suddenly set on fire (yes, I learned about the magnifying glass as a child...) But jonny, when you come back you may be menaced by another pair of BBB's! LOL (ya knows I loves ya! More pics! more pics! LOL) Sherry |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by ChristineL on Aug 12th, 2002, 4:43pm Thanks Sailpappy and Sherry. As we all know there are documented cases of animals, dogs mostly, that can tell when someone is about to have a seizure, etc. There are even service dogs trained for it. I remember as a kid being sick with the flu and my dog wouldn't leave me. She had to be dragged outside to go to the bathroom and then she was right back up on the bed until I got better. Jonny, Johnny - whatever................. Chris L |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by catlind on Aug 12th, 2002, 5:51pm Virgin?! and jonny in the same sentence?! What has the world come to. And to testify to Jonny without an h you can check my website at http://home.twcny.rr.com/clind and you can see jonny's page ;D As for the animals I agree, my cat and my new puppy know when I am in need. Although I could do without the pet cemetary on the back patio every morning after the cats have been hunting in the woods. Now with the new puppy we have corpse removal duty AND land mine duty, sheesh, it never ends! Cat |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by Mastifflvr28 on Aug 12th, 2002, 5:58pm My dogs are extremely intuative. They know exactly where to place each leg as I run through a dark house to the "hell room" w/ the O2 tank. If I don't step on each and every one of their 8 legs, then they ain't happy. I'd never be able to own a little dog...I'd break it in a heartbeat. Mast http://www.maplefallswebdesign.com/misc/cutesmj.JPG |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by SFChris on Aug 12th, 2002, 7:05pm I have a huge orange pu....oh, never mind, I got into trouble once with that mistake (STFU Don). :-[ I have a very large, old, orange tabby cat that knows when I am about to get hit by the beast (he runs away). Also, he gives me more than a minute warning before earthquakes (he tries to attach himself to the ceiling). Chris |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by pjbgravely on Aug 12th, 2002, 7:55pm ChristineL, I had a nieghbor whose dog would not leave her side for 6 months during a diffacult pregnancy. My wifes cat loves to jump on my lap and rub his face on me during a CH, of course he does that when i'm PF too. Some day I will get my own Bill the Cat and I can practice my football throws during a CH with him. |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by Ree on Aug 12th, 2002, 8:37pm Chris... I got a cat because while watching my brothers cat I found how intuitive cats really are. I went to his house in a bad mood by myself and didnt even want to be there... The cat came to me and simply made me feel better. My brother told me that the cat also saved his life when he was contemplating suicide after a bad divorce... the cat was magic... I believe you sweetie. Your cat must be awesome... PS do you live near Lebanon Maine???? I will be there Labor day weekend camping. You are sweet to invite all these Cluster Sufferers... I havent had the pleasure of meeting any of them as of yet... Have a great cook out... Ree |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by TomM on Aug 13th, 2002, 1:19pm My siamese cat follows me and jumps in bed whenever I don't feel well. And if I have a CH, he sits on the floor next to my bed, unlike my spousal unit who runs the other direction because she can't take the hollering, moaning, crying, and cussing like a sailor. Yup, animals are more intuitive than most give credit. --TomM-- |

Title: Re: I may not have a spouse but......... Post by ave on Aug 13th, 2002, 4:38pm Christine, when my old, crabby lady cat (old hag really) was still around, she would always when I was out of sorts, especially fevers. She'd come and sit with me and gently lick the skin of my arm. She would never sit still on my lap otherwise. Probably she was mothering me for a change. |
