Hi all, I'm new here, I'm a supporter of someone who just got through his cycle which lasted three weeks.  i decided that i needed to give joining this place a shot since it seems to help him out when he's feeling desperate with his headaches, and his last cycle was especially hard on me in regards to feeling completely helpless.  so basically, i just figured i'd post now, when things are good, and try to make some connections before i need support myself.  this seems like a nice place and i'm so glad that it's here...it's nice to know that other people understand what the cluster headache supporter goes through.  thanks again, and i hope that all of the cluster heads you supporters are supporting are doing well.
the end.

Hey Miss Becky....
Welcome to the jungle... Sorry you have to be here ... but glad you came.  A lot of love and a thick skin is a good place to start. If you the relationship is going to survive ... don't take anything personally when the bottom drops out of your SO's world.

yep, that's something i'm learning...it was hard for me to understand at first when he'd just want to be alone...he actually blew off our very first date when he got one...but almost three years later i'm still here, and boy do i love him.  so i'm trying my best to be a good supporter, thanks for the tips, many more are always welcome!! laugh

Hi Becky,

I went to my first meet and greet in Davenport two weeks ago. Everybody was so nice and so welcoming that it prompted me to join the board. My fiance and I have been together for three and a half years and we are getting married this August. This board has really helped him to know that he is not alone with his pain and it is good for us supporters to have an outlet. Good luck and I hope you find strength here.

thank you so much, i hope you find the same!  it's definitely seeming like a wonderful outlet to have...i'm sure i'll be utilizing it a lot, during his cycles and pain free times.  it's just nice to have so many that understand and support.  good luck to you and your fiance as well!!
