Haven't been here for a while

Hello there all of you. Haven't been here for a while, but I hadn't forgotten to get back. We started our own childrens clothing store back in Belgium. That's why I wasn't here. Though I have been doing some research on how to help my dad. I have read about surgical interventions. Does anyone have any experience with this? My dad is still on Imitrex. Nothing else seems to help. Hope to get some reaction. Greetings and big support from Belgium!

Gert, seeing you are in Belgium, not far from The Netherlands, have you considered the mushroom therapy (paddo's) in Dutch? Go check out www.clusterbusters.com Or the recent threads on the :"Medications" message board here. Good luck

| Yes, "neighbour", same here from Holland, our story is there too ... it was a bit tough for us (not for everyone though), but it DOES work! There are lots of people who can help you with it, and IŽd be happy to answer questions too. It's worth a try. So is the oxygen.

Hi Gert There has been mixed results with surgery here. It really depends on what type of surgery he's considering, I guess - but if it's the kind where they "deaden" the nerve on the other side, it leaves him with paralysis and no guarantee that the cluster won't come back on the OTHER side. You may want to look up in the Medications section - I think there are some posts about different kinds of surgery up there. Nothing that provides an instant cure though, unfortunately. Oxygen really is your best bet for an abortive.

Thanks for the support from all of you. The oxigen doesn't help, it keeps coming back. I hope I can convince him to try the mushrooms. I'll gather some more information on the web, before talking to him about it. Well, I don't think I'll leave him to choose, he has to try it! or else... (just joking!). Voor onze Nederlandse vrienden: kan je er in Nederland makkelijk kopen? Hier in België zou ik als leek niet weten waar ik moet beginnen. Suggesties? Thanks, en tot gauw. Gert
