A Song for Supporters

This is from Keith Urban's Golden Pond CD, and it kinda reminds me of what supporters go through sometimes. I thought of you, Ree, when I heard it the first time... we get so stretched in our lives when the Beast is visiting and sometimes lose sight of ourselves in the process...(I know I preach a lot about this but, trust me, I'm a bad offender of this as well). What About Me? I'm livin' in a world that won't stop pullin' on me I'm not complaining but it's true It's like I owe my time to everyone else 'Cause that's all I seem to do You might not notice but I need a good friend Someone to talk to when I'm down, down, down There's so much on my mind that I want to get out But there's no one around Sometimes I can't help thinkin' what about me Some days go by that I don't even see Yeah I'm doing everything right and I can't break free Oh is this the way it's always gonna be What about me Well I'm dreamin' I'm on a highway with the windows down I'm burnin' up the road at my own speed But I'm stuck here goin' nowhere in this traffic jam And there's a woman with her kids in the car next to me And I swear she's singin' Sometimes I can't help thinkin' what about me Some days go by that I don't even see Yeah I'm doing everything right and I can't break free Is this the way it's always gonna be Hey, what about me Oh, sometimes I can't help thinkin' what about me Some days go by that I don't even see I'm doing everything right and I can't break free Oh is this the way it's always gonna be What about me Ooo what about me Hey what about me

Yup they wrote that song about how I feel sometimes, for sure... I am trying not to feel bad for myself... and we both are picking up the pieces now that we think the cycle is over...... we're trying to enjoy what is left of the nice weather and savor every minute of the Fall (my favorite season) Massachusetts is gorgeous in the Fall... I especially liked the verse that said "I think the woman in the car next to me is singing"... When my sister in law was killed in an accident, I remember feeling that way...like how can someone else be happy when I am so blue... Well the past week I am the one singing in the car... I am great..........well almost great. I can't wait to see my son. In one piece and safe. Love to you Margi............you are my special friend with a link to my heart... How do you always know how I feel?... must be our common link in being supporters... love Ree

Glad to hear it, Tina! Isn't it great? It's even got an upbeat beat to it, that just mirrors the pace we need to keep sometimes. First time I heard it I thought of cluster supporters. And, yes, Ree - that line about the woman in the car - he really hits the word "swear" - I SWEAR she's singin.... amen, to that. We've all felt that: how CAN other people go on about their lives normally when cluster folk are dealing with a cycle? Don't they REALIZE? Glad you're enjoying the song, girls.
