I'm very glad you felt able to come back after being so very unhappy about things that were being said here. Being isolated from somewhere so important to you just made no sense (but I understand why you did it)
True to form though, I have something to say which may not endear me to you and your friends. I am posting publicy because this has become a public issue, and you hold a public position on this board.
I don't know whether it is a reaction to the previous 'fight', an attempt to prevent it happening in future (if this is the case, your motives are really fantastic), or whether you feel it is your duty as Board moderator to do so, but I am unsure that closing a thread down when you have had the 'last say' is likely to make you very popular with board members. It also doesn't strike me as the best way of facilitating those involved to a resolution. I know that is not your job, nor should anyone expect it of you as it is way too much to ask. As far as I understand it, DJ's personal moderator policy is that he doesn't involve himself unless he really has to, and he closes down or removes threads only 'in extremis'.
I was not one of those involved, nor do I wish to be as again some regrettable things were said, but I'm SURE I wouldn't be resentful and might hit back if you effectively silenced/censored me while still allowing yourself the privilege of posting whatever you want.
Wishing you well in dealing with the board and its members in future It is a rocky road!

Wow. Well, Wendy - in all honesty I locked that thread because I could see that the 'apologies' that were coming were continued veiled attacks directed at Ree. I didn't see the point of letting it continue. It really was a pre-emptive strike in that regard.
I do feel very protective of the supporters here and when I see someone being criticized - for doing what this forums' purpose is (to vent and feel safe doing so), I will always rise to their defense and take action to stop further abuse. AND, I will not apologize for taking that action.

Fair do's Margi, each entitled to our opinions and you have the absolute right to say and do as you think is best, AND not apologise for it, same as I have the right to disagree (occasionally) ;D
And you know me by now, I don't hold opinions based on the personalities/friendships involved, I just base my thoughts on what I think of the behaviour I see. If my best friend were to do something I thought was inadvisable, I'd still tell 'em!
Expect some flak though! But you're a big girl now so I'm sure you can take it.
