Hello.. I'm new here and searching for things for my DH who has these horrible CH....and stumbled across this board.. He's had these things for about a year and a half, probably longer since he found out what they were. He's always had migraines but this is a different kind of headache.. Anyways, what he was asked by a couple of Dr's is if he had tried Oxygen therapy for his CH? of course he hadn't, and last Friday it just happened to be the "time" to have the headache...and they got him an oxygen tank...he said after 4 minutes the headache went away... On the drive home he said it was coming back, but not as intense... Just thought I'd throw that out to you to see if maybe it might be of help to someone else here.. ::wishing for pain free days:: loves her man

That's great to hear that your hubby's doctor asked about using oxygen - it means our word actually IS getting out!! Oxygen is a popular abortive here and most folks do find success using it. I'm glad your husband is in the category of folks that it helps. There's a great website that a few of our people have contributed to and it's in the General section of the message board - it's "stickied", so it's right near the top. Check it out - make sure he's using the right kind of equipment. Welcome to the family!

This might sound off the wall, but mentholatum products work well. You can use Icy Hot or Vick's Vapo-Steam. Boil some water on top of the stove, and add the liquid Vapo Steam. When it starts to steam - it does not have to boil - pour it in a bowl and inhale it. Put it on a table and put a towel over your head and cover the bowl and that will trap the steam as you inhale the vapors. If you have some Icy Hot or Ben Gay, just open the open the top and sniff it. DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR NOSE. It burns membranes. A tubular Vick's inhaler helps as well. Refrigerate the Vapo Steam in microwage container when you have finished with it. At the onset of the next headach all youhe to do is heat it up in the microwave. Be sure it gets good and HOT in order to get the vapor action from it. Hope this helps. Crystal
