Advice from the experienced

Hi everybody, Jill is taking a day trip with her school up to New York on Monday. Since we talked about this visit for so long, we have planned to meet and have lunch together. I don't even know what questions to ask you all - I am just throwing this out there.... anything in the way of advice you may want to throw my way would be so welcome. It seems likely that I'd need to be prepared for an unwelcome visitor to intrude... Of course I will ask Jill all the questions on "needs", in the event I should need to apply what I've learned here. That's all for now. (I told her I was tellin' about her visit.) Peppermint oh.. btw.. for those who may not know.... my name is Patty... but I like Peppermint better

Well, that's cool that you're finally going to get to meet a clusterhead, Patty. I'm afraid it's an impossible thing to teach someone how to be a supporter though - it's just one of those things you've just got to live through and learn along the way. If Jill does get hit while you're together, let her take the lead. She'll probably want to hibernate and not answer a lot of questions if she does get hit.

Margi, Thanks. I figured as much... just thought I'd ask. We haven't hashed it out yet ... but that is a conversation worth having before we meet. Peace, Pepp

Peppermint.. I am in total awe for who you are. Throughout the years, that I have been fighting this CH-thing, I have gone through a wife and a couple of girlfriends, that either did not have clue or plainly did not give a damn.. To see a person like you, trying so hard to support someone, warms my heart - I only wish that you were in CA. (I could use 'ya).. As to Jill, just by being there and keeping people from trying to "help" her, to give her a hug when the beast lets her go - that will mean the world to her.. it would to me. So don't worry to much, you will be the best there ever was - because, if she get hit, YOU WILL BE THERE! That's is what it is all about.. Thank you Peppermint.. for being you. Marty

shanwa, It sounds like you suffer from CPH (Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania). Click on the link below. After it opens you have to scroll down just a bit to find it. http://www.upstate.edu/neurology/haas/hpcldx.htm
