Pet Name for CH Supporters?

I've been thinking....if those who suffer from cluster headaches are referred to as clusterheads (since clusters cause extreme pain in their heads), should supporters be referred to as clusterhearts? ;D

Works for me, Maureen. A fews years back here, we had a supporter who made that same analogy when some sufferers were saying that we supporters shouldn't be here. Her response was perfect: he might have the pain in his head, but I get it in my heart. Only other supporters really understand what we go through watching our loved ones get nailed like that and the feeling of total helplessness is pretty overwhelming. Most of us have never felt that cluster pain (with the except of Donna, an ex-sufferer who is now a star supporter for her son), and that single fact makes it even that much harder on us. We can't feel their pain so it takes an extra special person to have the compassion to at least try to understand and help. We've heard lots of horror stories of supporters out there who belittle cluster pain or think clusterheads are just trying to get out of something they don't want to do. In my books, that's right up there with animal cruelty!

Margi, you made quite a significant point there. If You do not know My pain, how can you have the patience and understanding to deal with it and Me? If You have never felt it, how can You feel so much compassion? Supporters are CLUSTERHEARTS!! Love it. Great name.

As a matter of fact, can we make it our "official" name? And I vote on our chairperson, Margi, to announce it on the regular board. What say, gang? We're now discussing new names for clusterheadaches. I think this would be the perfect time to let the world know about our "clusterheart attacks".
