I have a daughter, diagnosed with Raeder's syndrome 2 years ago. She has just started to have regular headaches again (often starting in the night), but has not had the palsy in her eyelid again yet. We were advised to give her ibuprofen . has anyone any other useful ideas - could diet help? - does anyone else think that hormones could be a trigger?

Hi Jem, Sorry to hear your daughter is suffering like this. You say 'regular headaches'....are you meaning cluster headaches or just normal headaches. What are the symptoms she goes through when she has a headache? Reason I ask this is because we specialize here in cluster headaches, but we don't really know much about other types. Just want to make sure you're getting the right kind of information to help your daughter. Here are some questions that can help us know what kind of headaches she's having: 1. How long do the attacks last? 2. Does light/sound bother her while under attack? Extremely so, I mean? 3. How many headaches is she having in a 24 hour period? 4. Do the headaches wake her? 5. Does she prefer to lay down with her headache, or does she pace/move around a lot? 6. Any facial or hand numbness when she's having a headache? Please give us a little more info so we can help you?
