My daughter's cat "Bungie" was just diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. Been doing research on the WEB, but seem to find conflicting information. As to prognosis & such.
This cat has become a very special part of my daughter's life and I guess mine too  .
I knew if someone could give me some info or "vibes" for Bungie, it would be here.

Cathy, I appreciate the info. I can't understand how he could get this disease, since he's an indoor cat. He's also the only cat we got. So I can't fiqure how it was spread. Some sites say it's a death sentence, while others say they can live for years.
I guess I pray & hope for the best & prepare my daughter for the worst.

I'm so sorry about the diagnosis. I've lost three cats to feline leukemia, this was before the vaccination became routine. It did take years for the disease to kill them. I hope you can find some information which will help, vibes going out to your family.

Sorry ta hear bout yer cat Jim......it's sumthin that was probly with the kitty when yo first got him....or could be......I've done alot of research on that crap and it is scarey ! But I do know of cats that have tested postitive for it and lived a long life....or several years at least after the diagnoses. Hey I had a gorgeos tiger house cat die from it and was only about 1 year old and tested negative twice. (we did exrays and found the huge tumor...she began to suddenly loose weight and cough but didnt' start till I got different job and hours were different......wonder'd if the stress was a factor to bring it on as it did quicker of me being gone more...we had to put here to sleep and I was DEVASTATED !!!)) I am thinking it is possible the vaccination caused it...alot of controversy there ! She had the syptoms and hard lumpy kidneys you could feel and tumor in her chest the exrays showed. (Lympo sarcoma) Have read many articles that there is talk the vaccination 'could' possibly cause the symptoms of the disease to develope. How old is the cat.....some younger cats have tested postive for it and actaully fought it off and never developed symptoms or the disease and tested negative months later. If the cat is healthy then that is a good sign and jus hope it does not develope any symptoms later on.......ya jus never know. It's so easily contacted from cat to cat......sum diseases you can actually bring in on you. Maybe if Mast comes along she'll be able to give you some info since she works for a vet....she knows alot about vet stuff ! Pam that hopes your kitty stays healthy forever and me loves CATS

I love cats too, I had 5, but now sadly only 4 as my 18 year old cat Maud had failing kidneys and we had to 'do the kind thing'.She had a good life though and we still have Alfie, Phoebe, Boris and Maisy.
I would hope that since Bungie is a house cat, he will manage to avoid many of the infections to which he will be very susceptible.
Let's hope.

ALL IS NOT LOST !!!
I had a Maine Coon Cat that wasn't Dx until end stage.
He showed no symptoms till right at the end.
He survived and lived for another 8 years or so after some emergency inpatient treatment.

PS: Yeah and a friends cat tested positive and is still doin ok several years later but is an aged cat so is dealin with sum health issues....they have been treating it with Halalistic medicine......dam it.....I can't spell that word and no time ta look it up. It's alternative drug free more natural remedy treatments deal. Pam that can't spell worth a shit taday

Thanks Everyone. I knew I could get some helpful info & hopeful news.
Definitely a horrible disease for cats. Wish there was something I could do to help him out. Just gotta try the meds& keep him eating.
