Welcome to the fold.

Yes. I certainly perspired a lot when having these headaches. The contortions I went though no doubt also contributed. It's very normal. I hope you stick around as you'll find many good ideas and ways to handle this horror. OUCH UK is also a terrific site.

There's no need to worry about your experiencing this pain at your age. Most people have their first bouts with this horror in their 20s. I was 23.

Here are two links: One for a technique I found effective and a second link to a description of this disease which does a wonderful job explaining to employers and others that this has nothing to with what is thought of as a “headache.”

sorry mate that you had to come here. 27 is not young for this horrible annoyingly painfull affliction. I started with it well before that age and am 52 now.

The neck pains are normal for me too, but I reckon they are induced by muscle tension due to the stress for the CH. I also get cold sweats at times.

Imigran works well for many, Are you using the injectable sort. I found that the tabs and nasal spray were not very effective, The inj works every time for me and provides total pain relief inside 10 mins. Just the "funny feeling" of "fluttering" in the chest which you get used to after a few shots.

Hang in there.

PS I have a theory that a strict detoxing diet can break the cycle. It has not met with much acceptance here, but then most of the detractors have not bothered to try it. IM or email me if you are interested in more details.

I sweat alot and my blood pressure rises also.  When the headache stops I cool down some.  I also get pain/tension in my neck from all the pain I get during the headache.  I tense and tighten up when getting hit.  It leaves my neck in knotts.
