I dunno, Sven. Jonny is here. Pam is here. DJ is here. Don is here. I am here and you are here... Seriously, what I mean is... Clusterville exists as long as there are people with clusters willing to listen to each other. In my view ANYBODY who comes here and meets those two requirements is a cornerstone of clusterville. Could be wrong of course. Anybody here more important than the next sufferer?

this is so ludicrous. I have so many good smart-ass posts waiting in the wings....butt I'm being a good boy cause DJ pulled the threads which started this folderol...which says to me that he has said "subject closed". Folks keep dregging it back up veiled under all kinds of subjects. The bottom line here for me is that the webmaster closed the discussion. I strongly suggest you visit this post. Whoops...OK..here. I don't have the exact URL...A visit to the archives will do ya good anyhow. Look for: "Posted by DJ (198.247.7.54) on November 12, 1999 at 19:27:07 " One day the "board" just disappeared. DJ shut it down. The above link was a wakeup call that noone with any concern for Clusterheads wants to repeat. Hello den

Good God! Somebody is trying to kill Clusterville? That's just plain silly. Someone may be trying to cause division because they are hurt but this site is too big to be killed by this. I am currently suffering from what is known here as a 'virus of the vine' (i.e. I speak and hang the consequences because I'll be sober in the morning) I saw trouble that brewed and stewed over a VERY long time, then exploded when the behaviour became visible and real rather than cyber. I saw (not for the first time) needy people who tried to get more from the site than it is possible for even the best website in the world to offer. That need was bugger all to do with CH but is utterly human. Expectations like this are bound sooner or later to be demolished by reality. This is a website, with (on a good day) wonderful information, kindness and support. IT IS NOT A REAL LIFE, IT IS NOT A COUNSELLING SERVICE, IT IS NOT A MEDICAL MIRACLE CURE, IT IS NOT A LONELY HEARTS CLUB, IT IS NOT A SAFE SUBSTITUTE WHEN REAL LIFE IS BAD, IT IS NOT EVEN A PLACE TO MAKE REAL FRIENDS-THAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU REALLY MEET PEOPLE AND GET TO KNOW THEM. When people's expectations/hopes/illusions are shattered (as mine were) you have two choices. Understand and accept the site for what it is and deal with it, or fuck off and get a life of which this site is but a part. Some unfortunate behaviour has happened, then really harsh words have resulted. I know I speak euphemistically here and I am sorry if this frustrates people, but I still don't regret one word of the posts of mine that were deleted about not publishing people's private lives for public consumption. I am happy to be part of this board and also happy that it is a valuable part of my life, but I only ask it to give me what it was set up to do. No more, no less. W the B

Sorry! It's one of those "we both speak English but not the same language" moments. I have quite a few of those on this site, even when I'm sober! Hooter (means 'nose' here not tit) now off to put the dustbin out on the pavement and the suitcase in the boot of the car, sit on my bum, and put my last fag in my gob. I think the words you would need are: Trashcan, sidewalk, trunk, fanny (much ruder part of the body here), and cigarette.

I'll have been here 3 years in September. Since then we've had some nasty shit and we're still here. A lot of that was political.....in all the ways that can mean but DJ knows when it's time to come home. As Kirk said, most of us are here. Others will find the way back too. Take it from MOC. Charlie

Yes Mast I do. It's a personal view but online people can be anything they choose to be, use other's words as their own, hide behing personas that aren't them. When you actually meet them, all your intuition can be used because you see their eyes, hear their voices, see their body language and really get to know who they really are and what they are really like. For me, a really true friendship where I can trust the person can't happen until I have done this. It doesn't mean I don't value 'virtual' friendships, I just couldn't ever see them as the same as 'real' ones where I feel I really know the person. For me this is also why meeting people in person who I have talked to by computer is difficult because so many illusions could be shattered. The opposite of course can happen, when someone surprises you wonderfully and you find a soul mate. I just think it is dangerous to try and plug emotional gaps in your life with a site like this as I think a few people have. W the B

I dont think anybody means harm to you Svenn. I think people CANNOT feel text like they CAN feel the emotion of spoken words. What Wendy said holds a lot of truth, but of course its not altogether true. Best friends can be made on the internet. Love can be found on the internet. I personally hate what is happening, BUT, I also think CH.com is way to large to die because of dissent among a few people. In fact i am sure it will not die. No, it may not be what you liked it to be. But it may be what someone else likes it to be! I am just another CH sufferer like you. I have no plans to go anywhere. I will offer my support, and i will ask for support from time to time. We all have so much to share, and we all have our own little needs. CH.com is not normally my LIFE, but at the moment, i need it! I hope to not need it soon! But i will hang around because i have learned the importance of SUPPORTING others! PFDAN to everyone, Patrick

Hey Svenn I'm so sorry, the comments weren't in any way directed at you and I am sorry it seemed that way, I hadn't realised. Your post was sort of a jumping off point. I believe and hope you are wrong that someone is actually trying to destroy 'Clusterville', I just think often these rifts occur because CH.com means so much to a lot of people, for loads of different reasons. Some of these reasons are great like information, CH support, ideas, new developments, social interaction of some kinds, humour etc etc and in my personal view 'beneficial'. The ones I highlighted above are, again in my view, not such a good idea because the person concerned sooner of later will be disappointed or worse. Of course I could not possibly name anyone here as it is purely my own view and based on impressions. Others, i.e. the recent leavers didn't seem to fall in this category, they seem to me more to be desperately wounded by what must feel to them like treachery when they have given so much of themselves to this site and to others. I just hope when the hurt has dulled a bit or they have 'had it out' behind the scenes somehow they feel able to come back. Sorry again Svenn. Absolutely no intent on my part to associate you personally with the views I expressed. Wendy the Brit
