Oh what a crazy week....

Had company up from Delaware all week, and ppl visiting him up all week....extra toddlers and adults and babies here. Normally I would LOVE it all (esp the kids) but it was just not the best week for me by a long shot.
I have been getting hit hard lately. Been calling and calling the doc and getting through to the nurse or him has been frustrating. imitrex tabs do jack for me.... and my doc (gp) kept calling my CH's migraines (which i do get but thats not what i need help with right now!!!) Well I talked to the oncall doc the other night (not MY doc) and he had me explain what was going on and I did (getting hit starting around 11 am or noonish with almost 3 hr long CH's then get a 1-2 hr break then I get another one....etc etc the way it feels etc etc....about being diagnosed by a neuro last year etc) Then he said OHHH so you do know what your talking about when you say CLUSTER HEADACHE!!! Well he was very compassionate (on the phone) and asked me what worked for me and the truth is I DONT KNOW!!!!! Thats the whole issue I haven't been tried on much at all, Staydol has had minor success so he put me back on it till my appt monday I told him I dont want to be on the staydol cause of the addictiveness of it (been there done that, wasn't mentally addicted last cycle but my body was shaking when I didnt need it anymore) but he told me to just use it to get me through for a little releif for now.
I am just so frustrated/ tired....most nights I dont bother going to sleep till early morning cause I just get woken up with a CH anywyas (I'm coming down from one now....peaked about an hour ago)
Things here in my little fam have been crazy lately and that does not help....my kids schedule all out of wack and my brother (we are his guardian) and hubby locking horns lately. Almost ZERO help around this oh so messy its driving me crazy cluttered house! Hubby needs a vaca from stress around here so he is leaving around 3 am to go fishing up north for the day and wont be back till tonight. I NEED A BREAK TOO!!! A break from this damn pain a break with just 8 hrs of uniterupted sleep a break from housework and just EVERYTHING. I am not angry at him, he needs a break and deserves it ... this past week he has really been wonderfully helpful with the kids and I am grateful for that but he works fulltime days so most of the day everyday I am chasing two toddlers with a sleep deprived brain and trying to stay cool when i get hit....
but damn it I'm just sailing off onto my own pity party on my own pity boat so I'm gonna stop this god awful novel now.....thanks for listening to me rant i needed it

Sometimes the docs respect the knowledge that I have learned (mostly from here) and other times they are threatend by it. There have been several times that I have educated the Doc's on the mechanics/etiolgy of the finer points of CH. Sometimes with great results and a productive dialog/partnership with the doctor.. other times I get labeled and treated like a second class citizen....

I'm so sorry Tara. Sounds you had quite a week. If I were the CH travel agent...I would book you on the first PF flight leaving for a well deserved vacation.
What about Imitrex injections? They work WAY better than the pills. Zomig dissolving tabs work for me too. And then there is always the O2.
Good luck with your dr's appt on Monday. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks all for the great comments/support! I always feels good to hear ppl say they understand.
I haven't tried imitrex injections yet (still trying to see whatelse might work for me first)...
and damn a nice flight outta here for a day would be nice, somewhere with beautiful blue water that you can see the bottom through and tropical drinks that wont' be a trigger lol......screw that book me on that trip for a whole week!
