Life Sentence
« on: Aug 19th, 2003, 9:17pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

If, in 1965, I had been convicted of a major felony and sentenced to life in prison, I would be eligible for parole this year in most states. However, as I was convicted by an ecclesiastical court whose sentence included such odd concepts as  'love, honor, cherish, obey, ...for better and for worse and ...in sickness and in health,' there is no parole. It's a life sentence, pure and simple. Where did they get this stuff? Why didn't anybody explain the ramifications?

I tried an appeal for an annulment, but the ecclesiastical review board said I had taken advantage of the victim too many times for this to be a justifiable avenue of escape.  Damn!

So, without further ado, Mike and Ginny would like to proudly announce their 38th anniversary on August 20th 2003, eighteen of them include my cluster headaches and eight of them include her rheumatoid arthritis. I think we are both extremely patient and excellent supporters for one another as well as magnificent sufferers. Physical misery is truly annoying. I think there are some fellow lifers out there on the CH board who can empathize.

If you would like to send Ginny an e-mail of commiseration, sympathy, condolence or congratulation, please send me a message or e-mail, and I will forward her address.

P.S. How in the hell did SHE get out of the 'obey' clause? I didn't.

OMG - Miklos - we have a lot in common.  Ramon has clusters, and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.. and migraines too ...

So, congrats.. cuz I know EXACTLY the way it goes.. you're in pain.. she's in pain.. you probably butt heads a lot, but love each other more than anything.. like Ramon and I.

Probably a whole cabinet devoted to meds... LOL.. and  a whole lot of supporting going on all the time.. eh??

You both steal each others prednisone.. dontcha!  LOL.  and he dips into my elavil to get some sleep.... and i dip into his imitrex when i get a migraine.  LOL.. we share.. that's what marraige is... right???

So, tell me the secret.. cuz we've only been married 8 years.. and we need to get thru the rest.  LOL.    It does get hard sometimes.. but marraige was never said to be easy...

people say the hardest is the first year.. but i heard a quote from a book the other day that is soooooooo true.

"the hardest year of marriage is the one you're in."...

congratulations!!
