well I got there, checked in and sat there for 20 minutes then the receptionist calls me up and says did you know your appt isnt until next monday?  I said to her no the woman I spoke to on friday said to me how does monday sound and i said great I really need to see the doc!  She says ok we'll try to squeeze you in.  I then see the doc, of course he is hurried cause I am not "scheduled" I had ZERO chance to talk to him about all the meds out there to try.  He gave me some samples of imitrex tablets...no preventative!  I am having about 6-8 headaches a day and most are KIP 7-10 I can only take the imitrex 4 x a day!  Well I have tried it for a ch earlier and by the time I felt it start to try to work, my headache was too far advanced to even barely touch it,  (my CH's have been lasting about 3 hrs or so) I then wait the 2hrs the doc said and took a second dose....by the time that kicked in I believe the CH was ending on its own!  Well I am scheduled for a follow up on Monday and If I'm not pleased with the results I'm going to go back to the Neuro (gonna ask for a referral so maybe i can get in there semi fast)......that's if I dont friggin lose my mind before then.

Damn!  Sorry it turned out to be such a bummer visit.  I was anxiously awaiting your results.  My heart goes out to you.

But, you know, and we know, you are a STRONG person and will prevail!

4 a day?? I thought 2 was the maximum...

getting the timing right took some practise for me too, I found it works best if you are feeling the first symptoms for about five to ten minutes. Hang in there and Let us know how you are doing!

As you know from our chats, I am having the same sort of cycle that you are.  Tough to get a night's sleep in one hour!

The Imitrex tablets just don't work for me... 50mg or 100mg. By the time they dissolve and get in my system, the attack is almost over anyway. I like the Imitrex injections... 6-7 minutes for relief even if I don't take it until the attack is already a 10.

Damn sorry about this. You definitely need to see a doctor who wasn't educated in the Caribbean. At least it sounds like he got his ethics there.

Good luck an I hope you find a good one.
