How much Verapamil are you taking?

I've been on verap throughout my current cycle.

Initially I was prescribed 240 mg a day (not slow release) but I was getting headaches in the morning, afternoon, evening and 1 or 2 in the night.

Last week doc upped the dose to 360mg per day, and I notice I don't get the morning attacks anymore but the evening and night attacks are still there, (although I think most of these attacks are not so severe).

I'm also using oxygen and Imitrex, but I see here that a lot of people have stoped their headaches using a higher dose of verapamil.

Should I up my dose? I know I need to discuss with doc, but I'm going on hols for two weeks tomorrow so no time.

What dose works for you?

I take 200mg Verelin pm Twice a day, morning and night.

I don't even really know what Verelin pm is, but I'm sure it's a type of verap. If anyone know the answer to that I'd appreciate it. and is 200mg morning and night enough?

That's what I take anyway, and it helps a bit, I don't have quite as many and they seem a little less painful, I to wonder if I'm taking the right amount.

Amerge twice a day really helped this time around 2.5mg morning and night.

GOOD LUCK!!

I take 480 mg in the morning and 480 mg in the evening of verapamil SR.  It has stopped the attacks.  I tried 480 on its own, and 720 on its own and they continued.  960 a day finally stopped them.  Some people seem to get side effects from verapamil but I never have thank God.

Another question.  How long after upping the dose do you notice the difference?

Within probably around 5 days I felt the difference.  It has to build up in your bloodstream like any drug.

I'm taking 360mg twice a day.  (1 1/2 240mg).

I notice the effects of Verapamil within one day.  If I forget to take it, I also notice within half a day.
