Hi guys-
Episodic since 1987. Been through some real wall bangers (Kip 8+). Pain always on my right side.
Just finishing up my 7th week of kip 6-7. Thought I was coming out of it.
The problem: Moments ago I was blasted by that "hot searing needle piercing my eye". But, this time it was my LEFT eye, not my right. The needle always precedes the shadows.
The question: Am I now going to have pain on my left side too?
NEVER has the pain been bilateral. Anybody ever get it on both sides after having it on just one side for so long?
Thanks for any replys. It would make my day if the shadows would just stay away. Pain free days to all of you.

Sorry you're getting hit...maybe you're close to the end...let's hope.
As to switching sides....I've read that they do switch sides in some cluster patients. Are you saying that you are getting hit on both sides at the same time?

Shit happens.
for one cycle 2 years ago mine switched sides....butt not fer every attack. The whole affair was no more or less painful....just a morbid curiosity.
Heres the definition of a "curiosity": a : one that arouses interest especially for uncommon or exotic characteristics b : an unusual knickknack
So ...what you have is an unusual knicknack tearing thru yer occipital nerves etc..

No pain yet. Hints of the shadow on my left side. Just worried that the pain will now come on the left side instead of the right (got my right hand trained to hold the hammer just right, ya know?)
To think that it would be on both sides at the same time...................... PLEASE say it ain't so.

I've always had ha's on my left side... never have switched... or done both sides at once.
... in fact, any headache (meegraine, tension) has always been on the left side...

I am right side only..having said that, I have had 3 hits that were LEFT side (three seperate occasions) They all happened fairly close in time, but not in succession. It was all in the same month though. Had all the flavors with it, droopy lid, tearing eye, runny nostril and it "felt" more severe than my typical right side attacks. Maybe my right side is getting desensitized? HAH, yeah right. Anyway, hope that helps. That was about 1 year ago now I guess, and I am chronic.

Mine switche dduring a cycle, they would start light on the left then BANG! hit the right hard. I will have to say that until they started and ended on the right side it was Hell.
