Mandy,
I took Frova for the first time this cycle (2.5mg, then 5mg per day).  I took it before I went to bed and I noticed that it reduced the number of attacks at night which was different from past cycles.

You will likely find that the insurance companies have limits on the quantities and that what your Dr. has prescribed and what the insurance company allow will not align.

Have your Dr. call the insurance company for a distribution modification.

Good luck and much speed toward PF times.

hello Mandy,

I was on Frova at 2.5mg twice daily, and it ended up giving me migraines in addition to my usual CH's.  You might have a different experience with it, never know until you try it out.  As for insurance, it depends on the company.  Mine, for example, does not put a cap as to how many I can have per month, only that I make a co-payment each time I get a refill.  Good luck to you, and let us know what you decide and if it helps.

frovatriptan succinate

nother one of our triptan friends

It is in a class of drugs called serotonin receptor agonists. They are believed to work by causing vasoconstriction (narrowing) of arteries and veins that supply blood to the head.

They jack with those 5HT thingys....

They may help you. If they help you, eat them when in pain. If they don't help you, find something else to eat.

We are finishing up a bunch of free samples of Frova....for Georgia and I it does not help as much as our Zomaltriptan friend Zomig.

Thanks everyone, got a bunch of free samples from Dr. Pred has been keeping attacks at bay so far but shadows are still there, so I know the beast is still lingering on the doorstep. I am going out of state next week, so Dr has extended my pred - keeping me at 30 mgs a day for the next week, then gonna start to wean off. How long can you stay on steroids anyways? It's been about 3-4 weeks now. Hopefully I won't need the frova. Just in case.  Thanks again for all the replys- you all are always a help. Mandy.
