I wonder how these CH's affect our brains. How can you have that kind of pain, and not have a change of some kind? The blood vessels dilate, and press on the nerves, or the brain, or some interior part of the head, and what is the result? Are the brains squished or bruised or do they return to normal. Who knows? ??? ??? ???

Welcome aboard. You are among people who really know what this is like. To answer your question: You need not worry. There is no evidence that CH has affects the brain. It hurts like hell and can make your life miserable but that's about it. Stick around. There are things to learn and people to listen. Charlie

barbee As the guys say, there's no need to worry, but I do know what you mean. I have gaping black holes in my memory after an attack and feel very 'thick'. I put most of it down to lack of sleep......oh and age of course! Hooter

I don't know ... I think it was NancyC that said she thinks CH cause brain damage. I have seen evidence of brain damage on this board ............... so ............ I think the jury is still out !! LOL. For real though, I think the gaping holes, and not thinking quite straight is caused by the lack of sleep during a cycle. There is no actual damage to the brain from the attacks.

Don't know if it causes brain damage. But I do have holes in my memory when really being blasted. May have something to do with the cocktail of abortive drugs I take to attempt to bring the SOB at bay. I may have been dropped on my head too many times as a child.

Insofar as the collateral damage to the temporary status of the subcortal appendiges does not impair the resusitive nature of our la dee da boom boom phhht. Massive brain damage is inevitable. Die is tossed. All is lost. But with the last remaining cognative iota of strength left in my final unburnt cranial cell...I shall face the sunrise , rise up and ....phhhht.
