I have suffered from Clusters since I as 12 years old. It took years for them to be diagnosed as such, but once they were I was finally able to get at least adequate treatment. My question is this, I think I'm starting to develop migraines in addition to the clusters. They feel differently (less painful) and don't occur everyday at the same time, like my clusters do. They're more like once a week. Does anyone else out there have this experience. Of having both?

Yes, I have both. I've had migraine since 3 and clusters since 24 (I'm now 40). The migraines are much less painful, usually involve nausea (but not always). I also notice that they are little bit higher on my head than the cluster (the cluster is right behind the eye, where the migraine is above and to the side). Sometimes Imitrex makes me rebound into migraine. Mark

I get both too. Especially since taking imitrex i get the rebound migraine as well. I have had migraines before without cluster also where i smell bleach, see spots before the eyes, the aura or whatever but not frequently. but when taking imitrex i would awaken with the migraine at times. pain sucks though in whatever shape or form - i've come to this conclusion. stuey

Dave has migraines too as well as CH and it's a bitch any way you look at it. Ill have him post ya hun. Hang in there it WILL get better. You need to find a Neuro who will treat BOTH of the head aches as seperate things. That was the only thing that saved Dave when he was in CT. PF time soon to you, Leesa

I suffer from both as well. The good thing about a migraine is that a narcotic compound can take the pain down to low levels if not away until the migraine subsides. Imitrex will not cause rebounds in CH sufferers, but in migraine and CH/migraine sufferers it will. More on this when I finish typing up the notes from the speakers at the convention. Cat

Yeah I get both as well. My migraines are usually near my temple or above my eye. I ALWAYS get naseous (sp) and am huggin the throne during migraines. And this last cycle I was having both at the same time I think...They put me on Staydol NS and it helped the pain of the migraine feeling mostly....My doc was still in the process of trying me on different meds to treat the CH's.
