Well to be technical (its past midnight )yesterday? My family aand I went to a big family cookout. My kids had a blast lots of cousins to play with, most of them live nearby but we unfortunately hardly ever get together. Lots of good food, good conversation, and squirtgun fights. Then to finish off the day we came back home and the kids and I sat in the screen tent and watched my brother Ray, 16 (whom we have guardianship of) his friend Josh (also our neighbor), and my husband (Sam) light fireworks in our yard. THe kids were so excited oohin g and aaahhhing I had fun watching Sam, Ray, and Josh cause it looked like they were having so muc hfun setting them off. Everyone came away with all fingers intact thankfully ;D Well that was our day.....what was yours? Tara Ann

Hi Tara Ann. Sounds like you had a great time. I watched Dolly Parton sing a Johnny Reb song. Pretty dumb thing to sing a song honoring those who wanted to leave the Union, in my mind. I also drank a lot in honor of all those fallen beer bottles that so well served our nation.

Well, since all my friends are spending the weekend out of town camping, I've had to amuse myself. Like Ted, I watched the music too. Saw the John Williams tribute and don't know what I'd have done without the SF Channel's Twilight Zone marathon and an X-Rated South Park movie. Thought we'd have a power failure during a thunderstorm, but I probably couldn't have handled more excitement. It was a full day Hope you all have a PF weekend. Charlie

My family and I went to a big party, ate, drank, watched fireworks. Lit a firework that my son found. Got a 3rd degree burn on my thumb.

I spent most of the day formatting a laptop and getting it set up again, and we took the kids to a local park with a water hole and we spent the day enjoying the sun and sand and water. No drinking, and no one around here has fireworks. The upstate NY folks are strange that way, they stagger their fireworks so the 4th only has 2 places with fireworks and they are about a 45 min. drive away. Then spent this morning suffering the pains of 3 hours in the sun Gotta luv what too much sun and dehydration does to your head. Cat

No fireworks. No family gathering. Didn't even get my wiener on the BBQ. Like most holidays I went to work. 10 hours. I hate working holidays but it's in the contract that somebody be there (here). But what-the-hell, at $136 an hour who am I to complain. ;D

Parked our butts at Jones Beach and ate, drank and had the profound pleasure to share the afternoon with pepper. and Erica who did not care about jellyfish at all ;D When the sun (that brutal bastard that refuses to give stinky a tan, ony freckles and crispy skin) finally sunk, the barge floated right smack in front of us (LOL Pep - could not BELIVE IT!) the most brilliant display i've ever seen commenced. The spectacular lights and booms over the ocean were so beautiful that tears came to my eyes. And I really did send each of you good vibes and hugs**** --------------Then...................it took two hours to get outa the parking lot....... Just when I thought God gave us compensation for Boston (lol don), the traffic throttled us. Anudda day, anudda bbq

Came home for the weekend, and got to see all my kids for a change. Cooked and made homemade ice cream for 28 people, and then sat on the deck with a pitcher of margaritas and watched a 2 hour fireworks display. All the ranching neighbors always show up at our house for the 4th. The party will continue on tonight....... ;D

God is kind and gives me one or two PF days every 8 - 10 days of my cycle. Yesterday (4th) was one of those days!   Since my wife had to be out of town on business, I spent most of the day on my deck with my two girls (2 yr. old yellow lab and 10 yr. old black lab). First 4th of July in at least 20 years I have not had a drink. Hope everyone made it home safe! Darren

| It's grey and puffy today ("well done" I think) and skin is starting to dry and crack. It probably won't start hurting until it breaks open. Next year when the neighborhood has the annual 4th of July block party, I'm going to chair the Fireworks Safety Committee. I need a catchy slogan... "Do Not Drink And Light Fireworks"?

Rode out to the annual veterans memorial service party with a large group of other bikes and closest freinds and sum trucks followed with all the coolers and beer. (ha-ha) Got to be apart of the candlelighting ceremony.....hardly a dry eye in the house........bout 1500 plus people showed up. Several awesome bands and bike games ect. We partied purdy hearty all weekend....sum won sum lost.   The heat kicked our asses ! But it was a great time.....Pam the tired burn-out

I know it's way after the fact -- but what the "H". Spent the morning mowing the lawn and edging, lot's of fun! Spent 2 hours getting the boat ready for the water and then spent the rest of the day on our private island floating, drinking, tubing, drinking, eating, and burning. Went out with 5K of our closest neighbors and watched fireworks. When home and joined a hundred other neighbors and set off illegal fireworks. (Sparklers and smoke bombs are illegal -- give me a break) I can understand about the big boomers I set off. That was pretty much it. Then the SOB woke me for his party at 2:30. What a prick! Hope everyone else had a good time.
