Hi, I am a new poster here and have had clusters for as long as I can remember. Ii noticed a sign of the return last night
and told my wige and she certainly agreed to go get a shot of decradon. The last time I had a shor was on 05-03-2001
and have not had a headache since. Has anyone else tried this medicine which I believe is a steroid for allergies and seasonal type problems. If you havnt you might ask you doctor about it. Good Luck to all of you

Welcome to the fold Owen. If you are subject to this horror, stick around, join in, look us over, and contribute.  Sorry you're getting hit after so long.

Just an aside, Don: Is this simply a steriod?

Hi Owen,

Are you taking Decadron?  I wondered if it was a simple spelling mistake.

Decadron (generic name Dexamethasone) is a cortiosteriod drug.  Many ppl with CH have found steroids to decrease the durations and intensity of CH cycles.

I hope you stick around and continue to have pain free days and nights.

I have had the decadron injections when I've made visits to the ER.  That combined with the O2 usually helps to settle a 10.  It hasn't ever stopped my cycle though.

Well I re- read my post and it seems i need a typing and spelling course Smiley  The shot I got was 1 1/2 cc of decadron and 1 1/2 cc of depomeprol. My headaches are very seasonal like the spring or late spring and somtimes in the
fall. I am assuming they are allergy related so that is why the steroid works.
