I have a URL for the pic I'd like to post on my profile. I've pasted it in. When my profile comes up "edited" it has a ? instead of a photo.

Mary, you should save the picture to your computer, and then upload to a free hosting site, like Photobucket or Shutterfly.
Once you do that, you can copy the location and post it here between [img][img] tags (the little picture in the toolbar on the post reply page).
