Anyone for an Aussie CH Meet???

Being such a bloody long way from everywhere, are there any Australian CHers who would like to meet , talk ,support, learn, laugh etc. I look at the posts from Chers who meet in the US with envy. I know it helped me to meet with other CHers. Maybe together we can shake up some of the medicos, O2 suppliers ...etc. I'm happy to run around and help make it happen if you want. Any takers????????????? AllanP Melb camp32@bigpond.net.au A few folks have emailed me in response. I haven't ignored you, my email has been buggered. Please try again.

Hi Allan Sounds great i am also in Melbourne and have only discovered this site a few days ago and have spent the last few days reading as much as i can about CH. I am a supporter to my husband who is currently into week 3 with only one day PF. We have learnt more in the last few days about CH's than we have in 6-7 years of visiting doctors and emergency rooms. Have you tried the Kudzu (?) seeds? If so do you know where in Melb i can buy them? Thank you all for this site it has helped us more than you know. Tracii

Great to hear from you Traci. Am trying to track down Kudzu at the moment. Need to try some herbal specialists. Will let you know if I find it. Allan

Ok i think i have found the elusive Kudzu seeds --Are you suppose to boil them?? Not sure really... Anyway i visited a Chinese herbalist and acupuncture(sp?) therapist this afternoon in Mitcham and he showed me the seeds but insisted they are suppose to be used for kidneys and cleansing , " no good for headache " he said and as i know next to nothing about Kudzu i said i would re - check if i have the correct name for what i was looking for....The seeds were small ,rough and round they were dark brown- black. I hope someone here can let me know if this is what i am after and Allan i hope this is useful to you also. Apologies if i have posted this in the incorrect thread just still unsure what i am doing please let me know.... Tracii

Tracii. Your questions might be answered more quickly on the Medications board. As far as kudzu goes... you want kudzu root supplements, not seeds. Seeds containing LSA are another treatment, altogether. I have no idea where you might purchase some in Oz, but I do know that you can buy them online. I used Planetary Formulas Kudzu Recovery (750 mgs), other used Nature's Way Kudzu (613 mg) Please read all the links in this thread... it should be everything you wanted to know about kudzu: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=meds;action= display;num=1110584362 pain free wishes to your home, nani

Traci, I've still not located any Kudzu. Have been to a number of places and they haven't got clue. Went to a hugr Health Food etc shop today and they are going to get their naturopath to source them for me if they can. They said Kudzu may be one of the things prohibited by the Theraputic Goods bureaucrats. If so I'll start nagging them, MPs etc. Good luck with your search! AllanP

Gday Back to the topic, I would be interested in a meet and greet for sure. I am located in Sydney. I looked into setting up a 'non profit organisation' 18mths ago, however you require (from memory) 5 members to form of which there werent any aussies available. I also didnt have a computer to regularly access the site. A meet and greet sounds like a great idea to me!! Turts
