4th pain-free night

I have just went through my 4th pain free sleep period. I have a business that works with the newspaper industry, so I am up very early, almost 7 nights/week. I have been in a cycle since mid October, with November being a very severe month. I had two business dinners to attend this weekend, and was very nervous about it. BUT what I did was change taking the 2 verapamil ( 240mg) together, and took one at lunch and one at dinner. I do not pretend to be a pharma guy, but I think this has made a significant difference. I also take 10mg of prednisone . My Neuro started me on 80 prenisone and 1 verapamil....and through the weeks flip-flopped to where I lowered the prednisone and raised the verapamil.......whatever.....this switch has made a difference . I am very thankful and happy BUT I will not risk a drink/ chocolate / peanut butter / msg.........I wish everone the same feeling !!!!

Did you taper from 80 mg of prednisone to 10mg directly or did you do it gradually? Just take note that dropping down so quickly (if that is what you did) can be very dangerous. I'm glad you have caught a bit of a break but you should know the risks as well. Regards, Eric

No I didn't do it quickly. As per the Neurologists orders--I went from 80-7 days---to--60--7 days---to40---7 days--30-/20/10 and so forth. I wouldn't try to medicate myself on medicine I was unfamiliar with. I know it can be very dangerous. However a COUPLE OF YEARS AGO i HAD SUCH A BAD ATTACK THAT i OVER DID SOME IMITREX.
