I just finished another round of Histamine. This time we did it slower, only getting 2 IV bags per day. THe headaches have stopped once again. I haven't reached for the Trex in about 10 days. All is well. I hope this last for a long time !! Pain Free is nice UNsolved

I just wish it would last forever, Michael. I'm glad you're getting another break, though. Breaks are GOOD. Besides the amount of time it takes, what are the downsides to this treatment? Side effects, any long term risks? I'm curious... hugs, nani

| The time is the only downside that I know of. Side effects include a stuffy nose. I haven't had any other side effects or long term risks besides pain relief. I'm hoping that this will stop my clusters for at least 2 months. PF Wishes everyone UNsolved

Are you getting your histamine treatment at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago? Wherever you are getting it, how many times a year do you have to go? Good luck, I hope that your PF time lasts long!

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

I've been doing this since October of last year. My insurance pays for it everytime I need it. I've heard of others who said there insurance wouldn't pay though. UNsolved
