Does Kudzu work if verapimil doesn't?

Iused to have success with verapamil, but each year I would have to up the dosage and each year it became less effective to the point it does nothing.  I'm concerned Kudzu wouldn't work since it sounds like it has similar qualities to verapamil.  Anyone have experiences or thoughts to share?

I have a little of both to share.  Smiley  Welcome, and sorry you had to find us.

Kudzu does have calcium channel blocking properties like verapamil. It likely has a similar effect in preventing CHs. I was taking 480 mgs of verap (along with lithium and Neurontin) without much relief, when I started taking kudzu. The kudzu made a difference.
Kudzu also appears to have an effect on the 5ht receptors in the brain, like the triptans. I believe that is the most significant way it helps us. My personal opinion only, but clues point to that for me.
Let us know what you decide and how it works out, OK?
Stick around and read. There's lots of info here.

Thanks, I'll probably end up giving it a try.  I've been a sufferer for over 20 years, and the most frustrating thing is that I've found 2 or 3 medications which worked perfectly for a while, but then end up stop being effective.  I'll share my experiences.  Thanks.

Yup... I know that feeling.  Undecided  Keep in touch, OK? I have a few ideas for you should this not do it for you. Have you tried oxygen? Look over on the left at the oxygen info link...

Oxygen has never been a practical solution, as I get at least as many during the day(at work, in car...)as I do at night.

At least it would help with the other half though right? Have you tried it? Many feel as though that if they could avoid half of them, they'd be half happier while in cycle.... Kind of like if they told your team would never hit another home run, but you'd win every game by hitting tons of singles. Many people here would give a way a lot of things (including some family members) before they'd let anyone take away there O2.

don't you have the portable cylinders over there? I carry one in my car all the time when I'm in cycle and we have a sufferer here who is a magistrate and takes one to work in a shopping trolley!.

I've got an O2 tank under my desk, complete with regulator and mask, just like I do at home. They are both there 24/7. When I'm in cycle, I carry one in my car as well. Nothing like breathing that sweet, sweet gas to chase the beast away.

The Kudzu works for me.   Been on it since February of this year.

Great success!!   Cool

Don't ever give up on any meds...even if it quit working in the past...it could work again.   CH is so unpredictable.  There's no tellin what'll work.

Good luck....PF vibes,
