Injectible DHE

My husband has suffered from CH's for 20 years, and we have been on dozens of different meds, as most of you have. He has been getting less than desirable results from Imitrex, and has had 2 inpatient hospitalizations in the last month. While in the hospital DHE treatments worked wonderfully, and they sent him home with injectible DHE instead of Imitrex. Does anyone have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions in regards to the DHE. His first headache since dischage from the hospital on 7/7 was last night, and the DHE seemed less than a lifesaver. Took quite a while to work, and required a second injection with a vicoden chaser.

DHE IM can take up to 1/2 hour to work (that sucks) but it usually does work. Make sure he doesn't mix DHE with any Triptan drugs. Maximum dose is 2mg per day. Signs of too much DHE are whitening of the fingers/toes and/or pain in the knees/legs Goodluck~ Unsolved
