Anything new since Fall 2003?

The medication survey tab on this site is helpful, but the survey was completed back in 2000. I last suffered CH in Fall 2003 and at that time was on Pred and Verap as preventatives and o2 and Trex shots as abortives. Has the CH community made any medical advances with other preventative or abortive medications/methods that have been unanimously helpful since Fall 2003 or are the meds I listed above still known to be the best for episodic CH sufferers? Please reply...thanks in advance, Gregg in Las Vegas

Try clusterbusters.com and search this site for posts on woodrose and morning glory seeds, as well as shrooms if you are interested in what sounds like very effective alternative treatments. Kudzu at the top of the board posts also has been helping many. It is an aggressive weed or vine that may be purchased in capsules? Check out the posts on that too. Best of luck, Rich

Thanks for the replies RE: the herbs and shrooms, etc...but I personally prefer to go with something FDA approved such as Pred or Verap or Trex or o2. Not saying your suggestions aren't wonderful, just not for me! So.....any other new "prescribed" meds out there for CH since Fall 2003 or has there been no new prescription medication proven to be effective for CH's?

Gregg, check your PMs. I forgot that Zyprexa has been used as an effective abortive for some. It's a heavy duty med, so check into it first.
