Hey Flo...a Red Bull question

I noticed that your book says taurine is not recommended if using verapamil. Would that apply to Red Bull, or just the supplement? I'm on verap (and hydrochlorothiazide) for high BP, would it apply to me at all? Of course, I read it after I used Red Bull as an abortive. It worked within 10 minutes. Thanks hun. hugs, nani PS: please check your PMs.

There were some indications that Taurine has calcium channel blocking properties, so it could add to the effect of verap or other meds, slowing the heart more, reducing blood pressure, etc. This is a concern that I put in after reading the literature - it may or may not be a problem, but I tend to be catious. I don't see that Red Bull would be any different than the supplement - one can of RB has 1000 mg, the same as two capsules of taurine.

Thanks, Jonathan. I like caution, too. However, a quick ramp up with no other abortive choices right now... I tend to throw caution to the wayside.
