I have tried all of those also, back when I was being treated as a migraine patient. That's why they don't work. They never did anything for me. Relpax used to help some. Imitrex works for CHs and migraines. And it seems to work best for me and from what I have read it helps a lot of other people too. There have been times when it didn't work very well. - BF

This is a great resource to know like the back of your hand...print it out and give it to your doc http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf It will present the appropriate treatments that you should seek and your doctor should know!!! Good luck! E

Cheesehead, I am a new frova user and love it.......so far. thought imitrex was the best, it was ok, but not the best in the long term. z-pac's worked great, but they were rough on the stomach and other area's in a males life. However, they did kick out the CH as long as I was taking 4+ doses daily. Good luck, keep the faith. ps. I own stock in the pack. gopackgo

15 years of experience with clusters and Zomig nasal spray has been the most effective abortive medication I've taken.Preventive medication, prednisone is the only one that has given me a substantial amount of relief.Of course it can only be taken for a short time and the weight gain side effect is a major problem. Thursday I was prescribed Topamax for the first time and Im going to give that a try.Just like any cluster treatment some people say it works for them and others say the side effects arent worth the slight relief they get.Ill find out what it does for me in a few weeks.

The best med depends on the person. verpamil 600mg (preventative) works for me. Maxalt works for me as the painkiller (melt in mouth one).
