Danger of O2

I have a question for the group.
Years ago I had a conversation with a physician, describing my CHs.  When I explained that we breathe at 10-15lpm, he practically fell out of his chair.  (I personally breathe at 10, unless Im getting no relief, and then pump it up.)  I have read in several areas of this website comments that O2 is risk and danger free, other than fires and asphyxiation (sp?).  If I remember correctly, the physician warned that breathing O2 at that high of level and that frequently can cause toxic lung.  I think that was his suggestion.  Has anyone else heard of this or any other dangers?

If you were breathing that much O2 for a PROLONGED period of time, yes you could do some damage, however the amount of time we use it is minimal, so there is litte worry of danger.  O2 is still THE SAFEST ABORTIVE method available to us.

What Thomas of Guesst sed. Absolutely true and correct. O2 is toxic at high levels for extended periods of time........say......several days or weeks, continuous. 20-30 minute pops during the day/night are no problem. Nonewhatsoever, as long as you take time to fill your lungs with regular old nitogenated air, smog, smoke, pollen, lint and dust _most_ of the time.

Abort safely. Put out those Rets.

So the issue of O2/Danger Use is sealed, and we've moved on to debauchery. Correct?

No strap, non-smoking room; other than that, with CH, I kind of consider the danger of not having it.

While on the subject of danger, setting that bottle down and then having to find it, now we're talking.  Remembering your where you were two minutes ago;  ok we can do this, keep it together, there probably some left... 'til I find it.
