Magnesium for Cluster Headaches

I have had cluster headaches almost every day for the last two years. I read that magnesium could help, so I tried some. I've been taking about 600 mg of magnesium citrate and one 250 mg of magnesium oxide at bedtime. The response for me was dramatic! I had a cluster for two days after I started taking magnesium. The third day I had a mild headache. For the last two months I've had no cluster headaches but still have some symtoms that go away when I take more magnesium. I could not sleep for those two years because my clusters came mostly in my sleep. I have slept through the night for the past two months and am totally off the Verapamil and Imitrex! I had to tell others because I am so happy! I only hope that the cluster monster stays away.

Good news, especially when you consider how benign it and inexpensive it is. It's too bad that more folks don't find it effective--but remains one of those items on the shelf which are worth a try.
