Hi, I am wondering if any of you have any experience with the clinic where I am being treated. Just curious, they do seem very good. I don't know if it is proper ettiquette to name them or discuss them on the MB, so I'll wait for some direction on that before I give more details. Thanks! Debbie

It is not inappropriate. If you have a preference to get into further discussion privately then state that after and people will be glad to do so. Best and let us know. E.

Ok thanks for the guidance It is Houston Headache Clinic, with Drs Ninan Mathew and Tad Seifert. I think Mathew is very well known, and active for many years in the headache world. He has a long list of pubs, some on cluster. Seifert is young, probably pretty fresh from residency, but also seemed very knowledgable. I think they know what they are doing (except for that triptan cafergot thing). My main concerns are: do they work with the patient with various treatment alternatives, or do they follow a cookbook approach to treatment? I kind of felt that it was the latter, but it was only my 1st visit and they did prescibe the 1st line meds... so we'll see. I'll let you know what they have to say about cafergot as a preventative. Also, I should say, I feel so fortunate that I live in a town that has this resource, and that could get into see them so quickly. No nightmare of going from doc to doc to doc with no relief. Well, already did that one some years ago! Anyway, I know how lucky I am for this. So, if anyone would like to talk about their experience, I would appreciate it. Email or chat is fine with me. I think my links show up in the message, still fussing around with getting all that set up how I want it to be. Be well. D

Never been there but you are correct about Mathew. I've seen many article written by him re clusters. I think you'd be in good hands with him.

Dr. Matthew would probably make the top ten list in the US. Very knowledgeable. Most clinics have their pet therapy to use when cycles get out of hand. Matthew's is the inpatient IV DHE treatment. Just in case you want to do some research ahead of time in case you ever (hopefully not) get to that point and want to know about it before he brings it up. Always helps to know what they're talking about. It's very helpful for a good portion of those that use it but isn't always long lasting. (not that much is but... Pink
