Imitrex Injection question...

I have a question...the imitrex injections where do you guys inject yourselves?
My cluster head always does it on the outside of his upper arm. But now he's finding that because he's injecting himself so much he's getting really sore, and it hurts more to inject himself there since his arm never really has a chance to heal. I'm wondering if anyone's tried any other places to inject the medication where it wasn't to painful. His poor arms need a break.
FYI - right now he gets relief in 6 mins.

I inject on the top or side of my upper thigh. I get relief in 10 to 15 minutes. I stopped using the auto injector and used the imitrex tip for a while and there is less pain and brusing that way. You also get more use out of the imitrex. Since then I went on to getting imitrex in vials and using a needle free injector for my shots.

I vary the location.....
sometimes:
upper arm
thigh
belly
between forearm and bicep
All work well & keeps me from getting too sore in one spot

I avoid using the trex...but when I resort to it...right in the ol buttocks it goes. Takes about 6-7 minutes or less to take full effect. No pain or bruising from the injections that I have ever noticed.

I am new to Imitrex, but when I put it in my upper thigh, my leg was sore the next day. No big deal though. My Doc later said that the stomach is probably the best thing to do.
GOD I hate needles.....but damn I love them when they come with Trex!!!!

I do the fleshy part of my forearms. My GP also rants at me about that... saying I will hit a vein or such.
If I am hitting the Trex frequently I will start to use my opposite arm, to get that full on 'junky' look.
Same here... relief hits in 4-6 (long) minutes.
Note that I am using the vials & syringes... so I have very little trauma... not the autoinjectors. What is he using?

He uses the stat dose auto injector. The imitrex he has it looks like a little box. Inside are the injector and two vials. The injector locks onto the vial container, you push the injector against your skin and then (like a push top pin) you press the button and the needle pops out and injects you, you hold it for 10 sec. and then pull it out.
At this current point in time NONE of the preventatives he's on are working. (Verapamil, Prednisone, Topamax - he stopped using this one because that's when he started getting his headaches back) So there are weeks right now where he's using two or more shots a day. The doctor told him only two otherwise he could get rebounds, but I'm sure as many of you understand, it's very hard to be in that much pain, know that you are a foot away from something that could take it away in 6 minutes, and not take it. It's hard to heed a doctors advice while the monster is attacking. Like telling someone to lay there and play dead if they see a bear - I'm sorry, but it's just basic instinct to RUN regardless of what MIGHT happen.
