does Psilocybin expire?

I just started a cluster, which usually lasts 2 to 3 months. If I were to grow some psilocybin they would be ready in the middle of the cycle. Is it possible to store the extra production and for how long? Under what conditions? Thanks--

That depends. Process and store it properly, and it could last for a long time. I've stored some for more than 12 months without any loss of potency. My preferred storage is totally dried mushrooms (and I mean TOTALLY dry) sealed in freezer jars (with dessicant inside) wrapped in foil and put in the freezer. --- Steve

Darkness and coolness is important. The shrooms must be thoroughly dry, Fridge works just as well as the freezer. You can also store them in booze making the booze hallucinogenic.

Theres a thought. Store it in booze. Trigger a ch, and kill the beast at the same time. Seems a little twisted, but it just may work. Seems a little self abusive, but then again, what do I know?

They do begin to break down almost immediately if not properly stored. And who knows what they're turning into. I did some old ones when in need and it hurt like hell and didn't do much for the CH pain. Keep 'em airtight, free from light, and frozen if at all possible.

I am an unpredictable episodic and am planning on becomming a farmer. I am contimplating this... using a food dehydrator to dry a harvest...then a vacuum processor to make single dose packages. Store these in the freezer. Use as needed. Any comments?

It would be safest to use a dehydrator that allows you to turn the heat off. Also, put some desiccant in the bag, but physically separated from the fungus; like wrapped in a paper towel or something. Jesse

I guess I'll find out soon if I've been storing mine properly as it's just about time for a maint./preventive dose. Had the product in my desk drawer for about five months now. BTW: Pain Free Since Dec 03. Tim

| How do you do this? Is it sort of like making infused vodka?
