Questions about the mushroom treatment?

Sometimes we may miss some posts from people looking for information about the psilocybin/mushroom treatment. Most of the time we keep pretty good track of the questions that pop up on this board, Medications, but I know there are posts that appear on the other boards sometimes. Especially on the General Discussion board, new threads are added so frequently, there may be people that get knocked off the first page before any of us over at Clusterbusters have a chance to see it and help out. If there is anyone here that we have inadvertantly missed that may want some information or want to discuss the treatment in any way, please feel free to ask it here. I will try to bump this up once in a while so it stays fairly visible as questions may arise. I want to thank everyone here for your help in getting information to the researchers at Harvard. Anything we can do to help, let us know. Thanks Bob Wold Clusterbusters

Bob, It would probably be helpful for people that have tried this treatment to give a history of their prior CH treatments and describe their success or failure with this treatment. There are an awful lot of people that just don't know this exists but would be more than willing to give it a try.

I've NEVER looked on any of the other boards. I only visit the med board - this is all that interests me as far as CH goes. If there was a porno board then I'd probably visit that too, but under an assumed name LOL.

I plan to enter into the treatment program. When I do, I plan to document and track as much information as possible. Due to current circumstances this will most likely start in 6 months on a preventitive dose schedule...plus hopefully not, dosing at episodic onset. I greatly appreciate the research that the busters have done to date and want to contribute. Please post some guidelines of what type of information to track and where to post. You mentioned getting the info to the Harvard researchers...how does that happen?

| I will try to post a more complete list but these are some of the types of reporting we ask people to follow when they begin their treatment. There are some diaries that are available but most people just keep track of their headaches, times of day (to see if its changing) frequency, severities, dose sizes and frequencies etc. Each day, each headache, so we can track how they are doing. There are surveys to complete following the treatment, pain scales to use, databases and polls to fill out, etc. All we ask, is to report your experiences so we can add to the database needed to carry on with the research. Whether it's here or on CB's. As to Harvard, the data they are now collecting comes from all the reports, surveys and databases that CB's has been compiling. This goes back to all the stories that Ueli thoughtfully and painstakingly compiled in the wonder years and are updated continuously. We have case histories that cover years of treatments. They are now soliciting the medical records from all the people that have reported their experiences, both success stories and failures. All information passed along is completely confidential just as it is when you transfer your medical records from one doctor to the next and is every bit as confidential as your files are now. If anyone has tried the treatment and not reported it anywhere, you can contact Dr. Sewell and remain anonymous to everyone but the doctor. I know there are people out there that have used the treatment and not reported it. That is one reason the website is so complete, so people can do this even if they feel they can't tell anyone. Many others will just communicate with someone in email that has experience. If you read the website and especially the FAQ, you can pretty much do it on your own and have access to all the old posts which is as much info as anyone had. Many people just come to Clusterbusters because it is not a public message board, where discussions are more secure. We are always more than happy to help in any way but people do use the treatment on thier own if they choose to remain completely unknown. We know this is the case as more and more reports come into Dr. Sewell from people that have no case numbers. All indications at this point are that the people that have not come forward in the past have a minimum of equal success rates if not even higher. It is true that people not reporting are for the most part, success stories. (you can believe me or wait to read it in the medical journals) The people that fail, have nothing to lose to report their failures and many times will come forward just to see it there is something they can try to turn their story into a success. The people holding back are the ones that feel they have something to lose should they report their success. With this still being illegal, they stand to lose the very thing that has helped their clusters. Some people tend to slip into the night with their new found treatment so as to not cause anything to happen that might cause them to not be able to use them any more. Some of the same reasons others still haven't tried it. The success of this treatment spreading to over 200 people now, is due to the fact that so many people are willing to put themselves out there and spread the word. They know that their success is not something they can keep to themselves. Dr. Sewell can be contacted at: asewell@mclean.harvard.edu BobW

This past summer was my worst CH session yet. I was afraid to sleep, afraid to wake. Constantly waiting for the next attack. All that after a year or so being PF. My CH returned last spring. Out of desperation, early fall, I tried the shroom. I was in a rising kip 8 when I ate them raw. I am sure I made it to kip10 when suddenly, with the CH still active, I lost pain. I felt real wierd, but no pain. I could feel the CH, but it did not hurt. A couple of weeks went by--mild shadows--more time, and woke to a good kip 4 increasing. Breathing oxygen, I ate more fungus---alot more fungus. I felt real wierd that day, could feel CH, but again, no pain. I am currently working on 5 weeks pain free. Not sure if my cycle has been broken or what. Reguardless, I am pleased. I feel the fungus had something to do with the sudden dissapearance of my CH. I thank God and Cluster Busters for the information. Illegal or not, I am sold on the idea. I have not taken triptians, and have reduced my verapamil intake to ZERO!!!!!!!! For the first time in several years, I am pretty happy. I have no idea how many grams I ate. But I know for a fact that feeling right wierd for a couple of days is one hell of alot nicer than wishing I could end my life without taking the firearm to my head. I choose to feel wierd any day over the pain of this last summer. I do hope the gov. decides to make this legal. Those things take almost too long to grow. Thank you Clusterbusters.

Glad I found this post. I can feel a Cluster is just starting for me and I am going to try the Shrooms for the first time before I get involved in any meds. I took some years ago just for recreation and must say I'm quite looking forward to it, as you say anything is better than a KIP 10, and if it stops my cycle then thankyou God for your wonderful creation! How can they make Nature against the law anyhow?? Oh yeah, they did it with Pot as well. Go here and have a look at the "Heaven in a Cow's Ass" clip.http://www.sacredcow.com/allnew/index_content.php?n=multimedia_video_bil l

Thanks Bob, Twas a miserable summer. Im finially beginning to catch up on stuff I could not complete during that last cycle. Too cold to ride right now, hope to get a warm spell soon. Its nice to be able to acutally live again. I know the CH will return someday, but for now, life is good.
